"Could be really nice"

6.0

The Inn is in historic old town which is a mix of well maintained properties and some derelict. It is very handy for everything in Augusta. The owner Valerie is a lovely lady who goes out of her way to make you feel at home. The Inn is slowly but surely being renovated. We were evacuees from Hilton Head during Hurricane Matthew and Valerie willingly accepted us and our 7 month old Goldendoodle. We had booked for 3 nights but due to county closures in South Carolina needed to stay two additional nights. Although we had to change rooms Valerie went out of her way to help us and basically said we could stay there until we returned home. She eased our problems over somewhere to stay. The Inn shows signs of wear and tear and could use some TLC but Valerie is the perfect host and I hope in the fullness of time the Queen Anne will be restored to its former glory.

"What a crying shame!!!"

2.0

After traveling 9 hours by car we arrived at the Queen Anne Inn. Our first impression wasn't good with a front lawn littered with plates and bowls of cat food for strays and a walkway in disrepair, but we decided to really give it a chance because the house had some real charm and character. The owner Valerie was nice and punctual but that's about all that was nice about the inn. Unfortunately the inn was disgustingly dirty. All we wanted was a hot bath/shower and we both opted out of it. The tub area was filled with mold and grime nothing some good old fashioned scrubbing with tilex would fix. The shower curtain was just a liner that was pink with mold. The toilet seat was cracked and dirty. The sitting area living room had dust dirt everywhere it hadn't been cleaned in years. The white lace curtains where actually black in color. The canopy over our bed was just a catch all for dead bugs. It was late we were exhausted we slept with no covers and in our clothes. We were offered on arrival a shot of port wine with was in a dirty decanter and was offered in dirty glasses. The mini fridge was filthy and did not make ice but we were offered a ice bucket that was filled with dead bugs. Breakfast choices were a bag of bagels in the fridge with opened cream cheese or thankfully $20 vouchers at a local clean deli . The photos on tripadvisor are lies there is no pool it's photoshopped in somehow. There wasn't one area of inn that was clean from the door knobs to the ceilings in years. Sad thing is that with a lot of elbow grease and pride this could be a nice place.

"Like Coming Home"

8.0

This is a warm and inviting place with nostalgic charm. Aged well and comfortably worn by the years, she still holds her chin up and presents a graceful presence in the historic downtown neighborhood she resides in. My innkeeper, Valerie, is the perfect hostess, there when you need her and quietly absent when you wish to be alone. Visiting and staying in the rooms here was is coming home to grandmother's.

"You get what you pay for!"

6.0

I stayed here last August, and was a bit concerned about the reviews, in my experience some of them seemed a bit harsh. It's what I kind of expected. They were very helpful with everything and service was good. It does feel that it needs freshening up, it felt slightly stale. I wouldn't rush back there, but then again wouldn't advise against staying there. It certainly had it's own unique character!!

"Room not available"

2.0

We did not stay at this place. When we arrived there was no-one there to meet us, and the phone number on the door did not answer, and the mailbox was full, so we could not even leave a message. Later in the afternoon I called again, and got the owner, who was at work awaiting an "unscheduled meeting with her supervisor" and did not know when or how she could get a key to us. It was nearing 4pm (checkin time) and we were left standing on the street. We agreed with the owner that this was not working and that given her failure to supply us the room as agreed, we would look elsewhere. I only filled in the hotel facilities above because the page forced me to. The building appeared to be in an advanced state of decay. Pictures can be supplied.

"Charm and history!"

8.0

The Queen Anne is an older b&b in downtown Augusta. We reserved it to be close to a concert and after concert entertainment. My girlfriend loved historic charm and neighborhood. The concert was a Tuesday night and we were the only couple staying there. The owner showed us in, gave us the option to take of any of the suites, then left us the key and we had the whole place to ourselves! We had a fantastic time and will be back again. If you don't like a place that creaks a little bit, stay at a chain. If you want some character and a sense of history, this is your place.

"Had to walk a mile in muggy heat to get breakfast."

4.0

Owner not living on site, but drove us to restaurant for dinner. Food good there, but breakfast had to be on owner's teaching schedule, too early for our California time zone stomachs. A/C wasn't good in our room as vent was under the bed.

"Enjoyed our stay very much"

8.0

We had a nice visit to this place in April. We were lucky to have the whole place to ourselves, and breakfast in the sunny kitchen-breakfast area was perfectly serene. This place isn't elegant, but it certainly met our needs for a comfortable and historically stylish place to stay. The owner was willing to be very accommodating though we didn't ask for much.

"A Great Value"

8.0

Lovely owner of this B&B in the very nice old section of town. Don't be put off by the worn appearance of the entrance. The inside is well kept and very comfortable. So glad we didn't change our minds at first arrival. Valerie went so out of her way to accommodate us, even opening the adjoining room at no extra charge. We had the first floor room 2 with a brand new king bed and great shower in tub. She showed us the upstairs kitchen and let us know it was all there for the guests. Valerie would bring us breakfast but we opted to eat at a local restaurant. The owners are teachers so it's best to plan on arriving after 4:00. Very inexpensive for Augusta.
