"Poor upkeep"

2.0

I reserved this for a romantic weekend in May 2015, and I had a pleasant time talking to the owner when making the reservation, but that is where the pleasantries ended. We were set up in the whirlpool suit 2, which was in the side house (not pictured on tripadvisor). The first thing I noticed when shown the room was a musty smell in the air, and what appeared to be pet stains on the carpet (see pictures). Later on after we returned from getting some dinner, we noticed cobwebs on the crown molding and around the shower head mount. We also noticed hair that not ours in the bathtub, sink, and bed that was not ours. We called the owner stating that we would not be staying there, and she attempted to blame us for the status of the room. I do not recommend staying here.

"Terrible bed and horrible breakfast - Not recommended"

4.0

The old house was not clean or taken care of such as mold in the unfinished bathroom, cable did not work, light bulbs out, etc. The sun room is where you are to eat breakfast which has a carpet full of crumbs and food. Toaster on the floor! Breakfast is brought in on weekends from a restaurant so you have to eat it out of a foam container with plastic utensils! We had to make our coffee! Outside the front steps are falling down due to rot. There is rot outside around the eve of the house. It is clearly not taken care of and has so much potential. We would have been better to stay in a hotel. You hear constant traffic and trains through the night. There are window shears falling down and cob webs all over the place. You can see the dust on the top of the room along the decorative edging ready to fall. We do not recommend this place!

"Don't stay there"

4.0

Don't stay there. It's in a bad part of town. When I came in from dinner, the guy peeing in the street next to my turn into the parking lot was a turn off. The room is really tiny, barely enough for one person, and the inn is next to a bridge with a lot of traffic noise. You can order breakfast to order and they will pick it up and bring it to you, but it is not a traditional b & b.

"Short stay at the Queen Anne"

10.0

My partner and I stayed one night at the Queen Anne in November; we were in Augusta for the weekend for a family get-together. Because we had such a short stay, we weren't able to take advantage of all the inn's little perks, but we were favorably impressed by the building and by how friendly the owner, Val, was to us. Our room was absolutely lovely, and very comfortable. Everything we could possibly have needed, we had. We'd definitely stay there again.

"Wasn't what I Expected!"

4.0

My husband and I along with my sister and nephew stayed at The Queen Anne this past weekend 10/4/14-10/5/14; this trip was short but it had and was very sentimental to me. Let me start by saying the house gives you that Old Charm on the outside and inside but Honestly that's ALL. I was so disappointed with the stay and even though the Owner Mrs. Val is nice and I did get a full refund for my stay; Honestly I would have just preferred to get the Amenities that were advertised on the website. The website advertises spa treatment and massages in the comforts of your room; only to arrive and be referred to a local YMCA for your spa needs and wants. I found the owner to be in a hurry once we arrived and seemed like she had some where else to be. After we received our room keys and a quick breakdown of what to expect and not; we were given a menu to a local fast food restaurant and told we could just text her our orders for breakfast in the morning❗️I was baffled by that I have never seen such service where she couldn't take the time out for us to place our orders before she left❗️And yes just like I thought we were waken up in the early morning hours just to be told our orders were placed wrong❗️There is no room service on hand after the owner leaves; nor is there any maintenance or security on hand once the owner leaves❗️I found that to be very unsettling; they have a back area parking lot from what I could see had no video camera's to ensure guest their vehicle wouldn't be vandalized while we slept; so we parked in the front of the house on the road for security reasons. Once we pulled up in back to park we saw a swarm of Bees in the back yard only to find out later the owner raises Bees❗️I've never seen that before and it makes no sense to have Bees at your place of business without advising the guest before they arrive "Just in case they have a Bee allergy" Everyone don't like Bees just because you the Owners do❗️We stayed in a room on the first floor where it only had one thermostat so if you are not the only guest on that floor then you're doomed for disaster because our room was Freezing cold being that the other guest didn't prefer heat as much❗️Over all the house needs some major work our tub and shower both ran at the same time, the jacuzzi jets never worked in our bath room, and the water didn't get hot it was Luke warm, the rooms didn't have shades of blinds just very thin curtains which made you feel uncomfortable❗️The tub was old and not clean as it should have been and the water pressure in the toilets was awful---even though I'm a Traveler this was my first Bed and Breakfast experience and it was Awful❗️The purpose of a B&B is to rest relax and enjoy home cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner in the comforts of your own room as well as having Spa accommodations. Not to be asked to text your breakfast order in from a fast food cafe and then be referred else where for your Spa treatments---Over all I believe the owners intentions are Good but they simply don't have the time or staff to run and maintain a B&B in the way in which it should be---when I spoke to the owner Val and addressed my concerns she stated "Well I don't live here we live two minutes away; so if something is broke or not working I wouldn't know that"❗️I just looked at my husband in disgust and said so how can you run/manage a B&B and allow guest to come from miles away only to get there and find out the place is in serious need of a housekeeper and maintenance staff---Just Awful---I left this B&B only satisfied that she gave us a full refund---our 13 year Anniversary is next month and my husband has made reservations at this lovely B&B in Beaufort, SC---he didn't want this experience to stay with me about how a B&B is suppose to be ran and managed---I'm excited about the upcoming trip and all I can say is I won't be coming back to The Queen Anne but I do hope they correct these discrepancies because the house has the Potential and Charm to be a nice little getaway--- Traveler, Mrs. Liggins 10/4/14-10/5/14

"Aweful!!"

2.0

A lovely old house but falling into ruin and very uncared for - I was worried the steps out front would not hold me and Im not a big person. The house was dirty, smelly and airless. The room we had was round the back next the the bee hives!! It was dirty and musty and the drain for the shower was not very efficient so you stood in ankle deep dirty water when showering. The spar bath was supplied with a bottle of Savlon but to be honest no bottle would have been big enough for me to be tempted to use it. Breakfast was brought in from a fast food place and was cold and greasy and not very appitising. I would not recommend this as aplace to stay even if you were desperate. It was incredibly expensive compared to some very much better places we stayed in Goergia.

"The highlight of Augusta was the Queen Anne Inn!"

10.0

This is a beautiful old B&B in downtown Augusta. The stairways creak and there is a gorgeous sun-room for breakfast and dinner. The rooms are very private (including a top-floor suite), but the communal dining room allows you to meet the other guests. It is maintained and serviced completely by the owner Valerie and her family. They are very sweet and went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable and show me around Augusta. The inn itself is located in Old Town Augusta, within walking distance of the river, the farmer's market, and the downtown bars and restaurants. I highly recommend this inn! I certainly will stay here again when I return to Augusta.

"Beautiful Victorian"

10.0

...in a transitional downtown neighborhood with some restorations complete but many still in need. Walking distance to the main part of old downtown. I walked back and forth to Broad Street by myself even at 10p.m. and felt safe. The owner lives nearby and will do anything she can to make you comfortable. When I return to Augusta next year, I will re-book this inn.

"Love to go back"

8.0

Quirky is all I can say - but very lovely. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast was huge - brought in by owner Val. We visited from UK beginning May 2014 and this was a 1 night stop over en route to Charleston from Atlanta on a 3 week tour of Georgia. Location good for walking to river etc We had a major issue with car GPS not working and Val could not have helped us more, from taking us to office depot for new cord, checking it and contacting Avis car hire and arranging for us to change the car, taking us to airport to make sure that the new car was good for remainder of trip and really looking after us - she even offered to give us her GPS. Definately over and above what she needed to do. Agree with some of the comments re safe parking and yes, the home is probably 100 years old, so we also expected it to be rustic but that’s what we went for and the upstairs patio is great. We didn't have to pre pay and no deposit was taken. Would love to go back sometime RBM

"Fantastic B&B"

10.0

This is a beautiful inn in the historic part of Augusta, Ga, with a fantastic homemade breakfast! Valerie, the innkeeper and owner, is charming to talk with and will do absolutely everything to make your stay perfect. On Sunday morning, she cooked a homemade bacon quiche just for us, and brought it to our room at the precise time we asked her to deliver it. It was so large that we kept half of it for our breakfast at our home the next morning. It was accompanied by fresh fruit, toast, a variety of treats for the road, and a thermos of home brewed coffee, plus orange juice. Just around the corner is a gourmet French restaurant that is outstanding and easy to walk "home" to after having cocktails and wine with dinner. There is safe off road parking behind the inn, so you do not need to empty your car for the night. We will stay here every time we are in Augusta!
