We stayed in the lighthouse/room 5 over Thanksgiving. The location is super convenient and close to town. Arrival is easy. Room was clean when we arrived. However, it has a really strong, bad smell, like moth balls. We tried to air it out and open windows, but it was cold at night, so not totally feasible. Family in other rooms didn't have the same smell issue. Great that we could bring our dogs. Would have given 5 stars if not for the smell.

Older property well maintained. We were there to sleep and back on the road. Fort Bragg had a lot to offer to see the amazing shoreline.

Very fun place to stay, but nearly impossible to wash dishes in either the bathroom sink or bathtub!

"Very Disappointing!"

4.0

Beware! Online photos do not represent reality! The first disappointment was the state of the property. Deep potholes smattering the entry, a bank of unsightly refuge bins at the entry, a field of waist high weedy grasses adjoining an unkempt common social area that itself was weedy and held two suspicious BBQs and an unappealing and filthy firepit that no one in their right mind woud fire-up. The so called "park" in the center of the complex was another field of low growing weeds and potholes and was furnished with about a half dozen picnic tables, two of which were scattered with rocks and dirt and leaves. Some people chose to not pick up after their dogs in this area. The entirity of the landscaping was crowded with weeds and in need of some TLC. As for my "individually decorated" Roses and Ivy Cottage: the cute comforter on the website turned into a dull beige duvet that looked dirty but probably wasn't, there were 4 wall hanging hooks with nothing hanging on them, the whole place smelled of "old wet house" (thank goodness for the ceiling fan), doors and cabinets stuck and peeled due to improperly painted interiors, and the "stainless" kitchen sink area was pitted and blotched with staining. The few positives: the bed and 6 pillows provided were very comfortable, the little wall fireplace/heater was a pleasant surprise, the tiny bathroom was okay for a one person use, road noise was minimal with the windows closed, and, best of all was Maria, the stellar housekeeper.

Cute room - full size frig & coffee pot is a plus! The kitchen is fully stocked w/ glassware, dishes etc. room is well appointed, cute decor, but my porch light didn’t work, and I couldn’t figure out how to turn hot tub on. but it was a nice clean and comfortable stay. & covered parking is great. I would return.
