Shoreline Cottages

It was a cozy and cute cottage. The shower in the sun room got everything wet but we just left the window cracked and that helped dry it out. We enjoyed coffee every morning on our private porch. We walked across the street to the gas station and noticed a path that leads to stairways down to the local beach. Very enjoyable trip! I highly recommend.

The first time we visited these cottages, we stayed in the Bird room. Super cute. Not overly fancy and obviously old but cute for what it is. Our trip this week was terrible. The lighthouse room was fair, the lighting in the kitchenette was so dim it was hard to see anything. And then, we found that the electricity in both the bathroom and one side of the kitchen didn’t work. So we were unable to use any hair curlers or hairdryers or even a coffee maker. It was frustrating. The managers were responsive and offered us a different room, however, we had just completely gotten settled and were on our way out to a pre-arranged dinner. We decided to stay and just use extension cords from other areas of the room to make do. The next day, while cooking our dinner in the microwave, the entire room lost power. We were in complete darkness. 8:30 at night we contacted management who offered us another room. We went to that room and found out it was already occupied by someone. Thank goodness we didn’t go inside and scare the occupants. We were given another room. The Moose Room. It had better lighting and the bed was comfortable. The kitchenette was small with barely any counter space. It was clean, and we were fairly comfortable by the time we got settled in after 9 o’clock. To say the least our dinner was very late. Not the best experience. Probably will not return.* management did refund us for the first night.

We have stayed here before but in one of the bigger rooms which we loved. This time we had a smaller room. Bathroom extremely small. Toilet area is small and would not work if you are a large person. Do not like not having anyone in the office. If you need something you have to call a number and then the drive over and get what you need. They still use no contact Covid era. Kitchen cupboards and drawers are stuck shut. You have to really pull to get them opened. If we stay here again you try room 8, 9, 10 or 11, they ard the bigger rooms

Upon arrival we didn’t have the correct code for the lockbox, so we had to call management to get the right code sent. Also, management is not onsite but you’re given a phone number to call. The owner was quick to call back, which was good. Our room smelled musty and more than the usual coastal smell. There was a wet dog/animal urine smell that would occur when you walked past certain parts of the room, there were ants in the room (literal ants on our pants), and mold on the ceiling.

We loved the little kitchen, comfy bed, beautiful plants outside and the hot tub

I might stay here again if I do come bk to fort Bragg . I’m unsure if I want to come back to fort Bragg.

Staff was very helpful. Perfect locatuon n room was adorable. Had booked one night but decided to stay another night. Person on phone said the room i had was not available but the house cleaning would clean next cabin first n move my stuff over for me. Extreme helpful if i had to complain about anything code for door did not work. But hose cleaning got me in n i grabbed key. I would have key in box outside n use a cide to get in that. I like keys but i am old school.

Thought it was cute when 1st arrived, only to figure out many problems. Porch light doesnt work, fireplace in room doesnt work, toilet leaks all over floor, some drawers in kitchen were really hard to open and close, there is no shelves, or sink space to put any of your toiletries in the bathroom, serious ant problem in kitchen. Staff was friendly and bed was comfortable, however we did have to leave a night earlier than expected and find another hotel because we Were just not comfortable there.
