Hyatt Vacation Club at Northstar Lodge, Lake Tahoe

Great offseason pricing for what was billed as a luxury studio apartment. In actuality it was a bare bones uncomfortable, loud room where I could hear other guests next door (plates clanking in the morning) and upstairs (suitcases rolling on the floor). The concierge, Patti, called the day prior promising a great stay and tried roping me into a 90 minute timeshare presentation- if you don't attend checkout is 10AM. No other hotel on our 10 day, thiusand mile journey across California did this...I mentioned to the concierge that this was my Wife and I's Honeymoon, expecting some kind of upgrade, anything- other hotels upgraded the room, left a nice note or gave champagne- We received nothing and after I declined the timeshare I received no further correspondence from the concierge. We will not be returning to this or any other Hyatt Vacation Club location- this was the worst hotel experience I've ever had, and I've stayed at a Motel that reeked of cigarettes and mold.

Most of the lamp shades were in poor condition in the condo (torn or stained). There was road construction on the property that started at 8 am to 4 pm. Hard to enjoy the outside balcony with all that noise.

This property is very clean. The staff was wonderful, and there are nice amenities on property.

Great resort experience. If you're looking for the feeling of a full service resort, this is a great choice. Nice amenities, friendly and helpful staff. If you are staying off season, be warned that some restaurants and shops in the village will be closed.
