Hollywood Beach Hotels

Great location, only a few minutes walk from the beach. We had a great time staying at Sea Angel. The only issue was noise from the unit right above us. Someone was walking with heavy steps in the room around 2am for a few hours that woke me up.

A little bit noisy because my room faced the street, but a nice and clean room. Okay, here and there are some chipped tiles but a wonderful bed. Friendly staff, nice breakfast. Exactly what I needed for two nights. Very close to the beach.

Some struggle with internet in the bedroom, and really high carbs breakfast with only disposable plates and cutleries.

Our second stay here this year, and once again it didn’t disappoint. Our family really enjoyed the pool, and the convenience store had plenty of snacks the kids loved. The WiFi was strong enough for gaming and streaming, which was a big plus. But the real gem of this place is the location—just a quick 3-minute walk to the beach.

Check-in took over an hour, which was frustrating. The gentleman who assisted us was quick and helpful; however, having a second staff member available to run the cash register would have made a big difference. We also found that some of the front desk staff were inconsistent with the information provided.

I was determined to be right on the beach, but HBH has bought up all the properties, so unfortunately, unless you go a little further south on the strip and pay way more, it's your only choice. Hollywood Beach Hotels in my opinion is not able to manage as many properties as it does. Delmar (and the rest of the properties I assume) has long been neglected, even it's "renovations" are lacking. It's nice to have a full kitchenette, but too cumbersome to head 2-3 blocks over to get all the cooking and eating utensils you'll need. The newer flooring in the bathroom was warped, seems like a rush job, and there was no fan exhaust. There are no dressers, just bare wood shelving behind a curtain. Bedside tables are flimsy, and only a lamp on one side (so only one person gets to read in bed at night?). Lighting overall is depressing, with only a ceiling fan light in the open area. Some floor lamps would be at least a LITTLE cozier. Checkin/out is a nightmare, as they try to serve guests for all 23 hotels in one location. We had to wait sone time before getting our keys, outside at that, since there is only a small bench in the cramped checkin space. There was no wifi available at the Delmar. If I had to guess, the "high-speed internet" is coming from the main check-in building, and the further away you get the weaker the signal. At any rate we didn't have it, so I'd say that was definitely false advertising. "Breakfast" also was dismal. Again, one location for all 23 hotels. Now imagine a regular doorway open to a small room, maybe 12x20 feet, 2 long tables on either wall with a small variety of grab and go items. It's not even orange juice, but an orange drink. Before you enter someone swipes your room key. People were lined up single file outside the door waiting for their turn to get in. Oh yes, and you only get to enter once, so you better get everything you want, and your whole party better be with you because each person has to get their own food (little kids included), unless all occupants have their own key. If you want towels for the beach, be prepared to pay a $20 per towel cash deposit in order to get one. Also, and this seems shady to me, I got a text asking me to review their hotel, when I clinked the link I was taken to a page that said thank you for your review. Except I hadn't left one yet, and there was no way to do so 🧐

The hotel was great, but the staff was rude and anything but accommodating. The woman who checked me in argued with me about who I booked my room with and wouldn't even look at my confirmation, she just charged me a hotel fee that I ALREADY PAID, and told me to "Take it up with the 3rd party company you used." They advertised a coffee maker in room. But there is no coffee. You have to purchase it at the office. I travel a lot for work and have never seen this before. Also, no cups in the bathroom to rinse your mouth??? Breakfast is served in a courtyard, it rained the day before. When asked if there was something to wipe down the chairs to dry them we were rudely just told NO. And the person scanning the room keys was also nasty when asking for it to scan. I would not wish to return to this property with the present staff nor would I recommend it to anyone.
