"Uncomfortable Bed and Poor Breakfast Hygiene"

On first impression, the hotel seemed fine – reasonably clean and not overly dated. Unfortunately, the mattress was dreadful: springs poking through, constant creaking, and rock-hard. I didn’t sleep at all. Reception staff were very friendly at check-in and check out, but breakfast was a different story. The older staff member on duty was eating while walking around cleaning tables and bringing food out, and even wiped her mouth on the tea towel she was using to carry the fresh food. This is unacceptable and suggests the food hygiene training needs to be revisited. Sadly, the breakfast food itself was also poor quality. I would disregard the Hilton branding – this hotel is nothing like other Hiltons I’ve stayed at and is more in line with a Travelodge. If I were in the area again, I’d choose a Holiday Inn or Premier Inn instead. On a side note, the Wetherspoons next door is perfectly fine for meals – we had dinner there and it was much better.

"Exceptional"

This site was just greenspace on the edge of an industrial estate when I grew up here and it seemed a little weird pulling into an area where I had my first driving lessons on a Saturday morning as it was all but deserted over the weekend. Not now, there's a busy looking pub literally staggering distance away, the ubiquitous Greggs, few other structures the purpose of which didn't register. Very quiet, all I can hear is doves cooing. Staff friendly, nice to even have staff, last place I stayed was largely automated so only other humans were fellow guests. Complimentary breakfast, none of this £15pppn extra nonsense and much better than any £15 rip off offerings. Lots of guys in work gear and German accents so probably popular with service/installation engineers working at operations on the industrial side. One minor issue is the size of the car park. It didn't look to have much space when I checked in around 4pm, and was lucky to get the last one when I returned around 9pm after dining out. Does puzzle me as to why - in a era of expanding waistlines and growing obesity - are parking slots getting narrower? I'm not exactly Captain Lardy but even with sensibly/centrally parked cars, one needs to be like Stretch Armstrong or a contortionist to get in or out of the car without injury to self of damage to vehicle!

"Hampton by Hilton corby"

Situated next door to a Wetherspoon. Some of guests at hotel had obviously been there all afternoon and came back to hotel with 5 kids who they allowed to run amok all over the furniture, screaming like banshees. I suspect they were travellers. Staff did their best but parents took no responsibility. Staff apologised to others. Rooms were great. Really appreciated the blackout blinds. Comfy beds and breakfast at 6am. Bonus.

"Comfortable and decent price for the F1"

Comfortable stay for the F1. Breakfast is 6:30am which was too late for us leaving, I asked if we could take a few things before if they were available, the receptionist was less than helpful. But other than that pleasant stay

"Two night stay with dog"

Friendly welcome, paid for dog to stay on arrival (room booking had been paid when booked). Clean room, comfy, a bit worn in places. Good price offered for two nights with breakfast. Access to other places to eat nearby too.

"Exceptional"

We only stayed for a couple of nights, but we found the bed was clean and the breakfast was plentiful and delicious. It’s much more than a continental breakfast, and has enormous variety of foods to choose from.

"50% Staff need a difficult conversation"

We have delivered training at this location three times in the past two months and overall we have been very disappointed. We have stayed and delivered training here and overall the service (bar 2 people) was extremely poor. First the positive, Eve and Sandra absolutely fantastic, as professional trainers ourselves management need to take note, they (Eve & Sandra) should be training others in customer care in this hotel! For the development, where do I start... The majority of the reception staff are very poor, one lady on our check in was so rude and watching her and her friend smirk at her rudeness was like watching two naughty schoolgirls. When I reported this to the supervisor, she apologised but it was evident she wasn't really listening and likely she didn't care; I suggest this is the real issue, a lack of adequate management. I would remove these people from any customer facing role in an instant. Nearly every morning we had the constant battle of attempting to access the training room prior to the start of the training, many times we were chasing people for flip charts, water, coffee etc. They even tried to move us into an inappropriate room that wasn't on our contract for 'another client'. Lunch was at best adequate and after we complained this week, it did improve but then the day after when Sandra wasn't in, it reverted back to dysfunctional incompetence. Many staff are either rude, think they are someone special or just don't get customer care. I awarded two stars because of Eve and Sandra who get it, if they weren't there it would be a zero. Btw we won't be coming back.
