Candlewood Suites Harrisburg I-81 Hershey Area by IHG

Other than our room not being ready for check in at 4 but 5pm, we enjoyed our stay.

Our stay at Candlewood suites was okay but not wonderful. We stayed 2 nights and the first night the fire alarm went off in our room for no reason at 11:30PM and then the next night at 4AM. Bathtub didn’t drain well. Room was clean and the mini kitchen was nice. Dishwasher was very loud.

The room was nice. I liked the setup.

Well I didn't like that there was no breakfast. The front lobby area was very plain and unfinished. There was a small sign about construction in progress - but it was off putting. Poor sound insulation for noise from above floor.

Our room was relatively clean. Not the best. Dishes in dishwasher were dirty upon arrival. Lots of dirt build- up in corners in bathroom and tub surround. Otherwise comfortable.

It was conveniently located to our venue, easy to get around. Staff from arrival to departure was very friendly, accommodating and personable. Only downside was pool was running and water clear but not available for use!

Booked 2 rooms, both rooms were very dirty, toilet was clogged, fire alarm went off three times during the 5 night stay (no EMS response) Towel holder hanging off wall. 2nd room was not in any shape to be rented. The smell of animal urine was insane. Dealing with front desk was awful, finally switched 2nd room after numerous run arounds. Would not let me leave a message for Property manager or regional MGR. Property is not kept up with, side door not secure and falling off hinges, pool was unsafe and inoperable, PTAC holding water smelling like mildew/mold. I actually do this for a living. 6000 units, I will be speaking with corporate. I expected a discount for dealing with all these short comings but instead, I got someone that kept saying they were new to the job and didn’t know how to reach anyone. I do hope someone reaches out to me to make this better.
