"Duke of Queens Lovely"

10.0

The staff was so friendly. Michele, who greeted us each morning as she sat behind the desk, was wonderful. She was very friendly, professional and a great person to talk to about the local area. The breakfast each day was the best we had while visiting Ireland. The room was very comfortable and the hotel charming.

Location was great lots of good restaurants within walking street parking was available and a short taxi ride to the centre. The only issue we had was the windows don’t open and the maid sprays an air freshener that makes it hard to breathe. The air con on cleaned the room and we talked to the maid and no problems on the second and third day.Its a problem in some hotels that air freshener get into the whole hotel carpets hallways this isn’t the first one.We had a Hyatt high end hotel near the Paris Airport the whole place had that smell we refused the room again no windows that opened.

"Spray paint smell spoiled stay somewhat "

6.0

As the restaurant and bar were being refurbished there was a very strong smell of spray paint or glue every day during 3 day stay. On one night it was difficult to sleep as the smell reached our room on the second floor. The bathroom had no soap dish or anywhere to put shampoo in the shower. Also no hook on back of bathroom door. Small things but several of us commented on it. Room and bathroom were really good size though. Excellent location for events at Queens University.

The staff were wonderful. It felt as though they could not do too much for us. Lovely big room (even though we did not 'upgrade'). One of the best breakfast choices I have ever had in a hotel (included in the price). It was an anniversary trip and, in the evening, we returned to our room to find a card and chocolates. Lovely surprise.

"The place to stay near Queen's University"

8.0

Nice hotel, although no facilities (gym etc.). Room was large enough, WiFi fast. Very good breakfast (upgrade from continental to Irish is 6 GBP and totally worth it). There is a restaurant on board, and the food is nice, too. Very close to the botanical garden. Some 15 mins by foot from Glengall street and about 800 m to the Lagan river
