Access from shared car park - you’re in the deep end hotel staff are only on the 2nd floor of the building

Top sauber , alles neu im Zimmer, gute Klima und sehr nettes Personal an der Rezeption.

Nichts , ( das Zimmer hat kein Balkon aber das steht in der Beschreibung, wir brauchten das auch nicht, waren nur zum Schlafen da)

The water from the shower was not very hot, and the water pressure was quite slow. The room also wasn’t as clean as expected, which was disappointing.

We arrived at Newkings Boutique Hotel with a fully prepaid reservation and was told at reception that our booking had been cancelled that same day. Reception staff showed me a printed confirmation from their own internal system clearly stating the booking had been cancelled by the hotel due to overbooking. This was their document, from their system, shown to me at the time. There was no ambiguity — the hotel cancelled a confirmed, prepaid reservation. We did receive an email, but it was sent only hours before arrival while we were on a flight, making it impossible to see or act on. By the time we arrived, we were simply told there was no room. I asked to speak with the manager. No manager came. No ownership was taken. No meaningful apology. No assistance in finding alternative accommodation. We were left to deal with the consequences ourselves in Cape Town during Mining Indaba, one of the busiest weeks of the year. Cancelling a prepaid reservation on the day of arrival, admitting it in writing, and then offering no accountability or support is completely unacceptable. I have photographic evidence of the hotel’s own system confirming they cancelled the booking due to overbooking. Book here at your own risk.

The location is good, near to the sea front and some good places for food nearby. All the staff were great. Parking is under the building, which also has supermarkets and cafes. The room was big and comfortable, and the aircon worked well.

The lifts seem to have a mind of their own, you have to be patient. No real worries though.
