Newkings Boutique Hotel

We chose our package tour, as the hotel seemed to be good quality accommodation on paper at least, the previous 4 he’d met and some exceeded. Our last hotel appeared to be a comfortable four-star option for our last stay. Unfortunately the reality was very different. By sheer bad luck we were initially given what must be the worst room in the hotel. The windows started about four feet off the floor and looked directly onto a car park. The air conditioning sounded like a small tractor idling in the corner, and the overall feel of the room was closer to a prison cell than anything resembling a four-star hotel room. To add to the odd design choices, the glass shower was physically in the same room as the bed. We immediately asked to change rooms and were told the hotel was full. After pressing the issue, two alternative rooms suddenly became available. They were slightly better than the first, but unfortunately the problems didn’t end there. The air conditioning clearly had very little gas in it and simply couldn’t cool the room. The temperature sat around 27°C for most of our stay. We were told it would be sorted. It never was. Instead we were given a small fan, which made almost no difference. The result was three nights of hot, restless sleep. Breakfast was another ordeal. The cooked buffet (an English breakfast) looked tired and unappealing, while the fruit offering consisted of chopped pieces laid out on a board. When I politely asked for poached eggs I was told “no” by a rather grumpy waiter. The following morning I asked the chef directly, who then had to ask permission from the same waiter before again saying no. After pointing out that they had eggs, boiling water, and a paying guest asking for them, I eventually got my poached eggs — though it felt like an unnecessary negotiation. To be fair, some staff members did try to help when we raised the issues, but nothing was ever actually resolved. The hotel advertises itself as four-star. In reality it’s a fairly basic hotel literally built on top of a supermarket, with the smell of produce drifting through parts of the building. Unfortunately the experience didn’t come close to what you would reasonably expect from a four-star stay, and there are almost certainly better options nearby

The hotel location is ideal and central to all areas within our meeting range which is excellent for us.Staff at hotel always friendly and helpful .The rooms are always excellent.The only issue I constantly seem to get is the rooms booked at reservation is always switched on arrival which is very frustrating for me.Shameemah is very professional from booking to assisting with any problems.It is always a seamless process on checkout.Highly recommend hotel.
