"Disappointing "

4.0

Had high hopes after hearing from locals that this is their best. Shower door is so bad that a simple shower turned the floor and carpet into a slip hazard/huge puddle. The side that isn’t blocked by the door sprayed water all over the toilet and floor too. Completely outdated and seats need to be reupholstered. Had DO NOT DISTURB on the door but maid still entered while we were out, but nothing was missing and jewelry was on the table. Breakfast was nice, view is perfect, lack of English speakers is shocking for what should be an upscale hotel in a summer resort location.

Not a pleasant experience place to stay in (the town and the hotel). Would recommend staying in a nearby town if you are passing through as we were on our road trip. Not a tourist friendly destination.

Our stay at Hotel Espplanade in Percasa was wonderful. We had an ocean view room that was breathtaking. All amenities are close by and the train and bus station are a close walk away. Staff were helpful and courteous.

"Excellent location and staff, disappointing room"

6.0

Our first impressions of the Esplanade were great. We arrived at around noon (2 hours before checkin begins) and asked to store our luggage. The kind and polite staff instead offered to check us in early, which was surprising and great! Unfortunately, once we made our way up to the room we were less than impressed. I actually liked the decor of the room, as I tend to like the older charm over Holiday Inn cookie-cutter decor. However the shower needed a deep cleaning and the bed was hands-down the most uncomfortable thing I've ever slept on (and I go camping on a thin sleeping pad a lot!). Other guests have mentioned that the bathrooms were small and it was noisy at night. We didn't experience either of these issues - our bathroom was quite loud and noise wasn't a problem after 10 PM or so.

"Close to the beach but not for a beach holiday"

6.0

The hotel is centrally located for the centre and near all the best restaurants and bars, and is literally a stones throw from the beach, but considering the proximity to the beach it is not really suited for a beach holiday. They don't provide beach towels, which we had to buy for around €10 locally. There is nowhere in the room to put wet swimming costumes and towels after a day at the beach, and the worst part is they advise you that you can use the facilities at the Palm Beach resort opposite, but this costs €25 PER DAY!!! Don't even attempt to use the pool as it is tiny and full of screaming children. Aside from this, the hotel looks beautiful from the outside, and we had a great view of the beach and the main square. We didn't find it noisy as others have. The room is cleaned daily and we were given fresh linens and towels everyday and it was comfortable, but we had two TV's but no tea or coffee making facilities? That makes no sense! The mini bar was reasonable, €2-€3 for water and bottled beers, but the Tigre supermarket is a short walk away where you can pick up water for €0.17 plus other bits, alcohol, biscuits and nibbles whatever for the room. Lastly, the breakfast I would say don't bother. €6 each for mini croissants, jam, cheese, ham and bread just doesn't suit the hotel. The view is beautiful but the breakfast is not worth it. There are several cafes nearby where you will pay a fraction for better pastries, coffee and I hate to say it but better service.

"Beach Area"

6.0

Very nice location, and the service at the hotel restaurant was also nice, but that was about it. We picked the location as it was very close to the beach, but the hotel has not had any renovations in over 25 years and it shows. Also, front desk is not very helpful and had to keep our passports for 10 minutes to verify and copy, very concerning.

"Would Not Accept Our Governement Issued ID"

2.0

Travelled on June 2nd with my husband. When we arrived we had all of our ID except for our passports as no where on the site did it say specifically that we had to bring / show it. They did not accept any of the our government issued ID's. We never had an issue staying in other hotels within Italy. Hotel was not accomodating and we were not able to stay so I cannot give an accurate review of the property.
