Pimalai Resort And Spa

Just spent 9 days at this beautiful hotel, set in the cliffs.. service is fab, rooms were great, we stayed in the 200s , lower down. The higher you go, you may get the monkeys popping in...there are steps everywhere, but buggies available 24/7.

Pimalai is just gorgeous. I would say it’s quiet luxury. Everything is clean, modern and high end but isn’t flashy or ostentatious with it. The atmosphere is lovely and chilled, all the staff are warm and welcoming and it’s a perfect place to relax and destress. The restaurants are all very good - particularly Rak Talay, and the heritage bar is perfect for sunset happy hour. We had a mountain room (very steep but buggies can be called) with our own plunge pool. We loved it (watch out for the monkeys though!). Our room also had its own kitchen which is great if you are staying longer. We found the app extremely useful for calling buggies and looking at menus etc. We had massages too, the spa is lovely. We just got back and I’m already desperate to return. Koh Lanta itself is nice and chilled.

What an amazing place to stay. From start to finish we were so well taken care of. All the staff were lovely. Our beachside pavilion suite was beautiful very spacious with an amazing view of the stunning beach. We ate at the Seven Seas twice, tried the tasting menu which was delicious. We had dinner at Rak Talay which was also wonderful. We loved Happy Hour at the same place watching the sunset. We went out on a snorkelling trip arranged via the hotel, excellent snorkelling, & the staff kept a close eye on us all, even diving down with our underwater camera & getting some great photos. I would highly recommend Pimalai to anyone.

It was our first visit to Pimalai and we had the pleasure of staying nine nights. The staff were absolutely first class, bedrooms were spotless and luxurious, guest slippers, robes and beach bag for the duration were supplied in the room with a lovely plate of fruit upon arrival. The restaurants were superb with an amazing variety of salads, snacks, plus exceptional quality European, and Thai cuisine. Both pools were amazing, the sun beds were great quality and there were plenty of towels. The staff also came round with chilled water and little fruit snacks. Fabulous touches. I had a reflexology treatment at the Spa which was great. The Transfer from Krabi Airport was extremely well organised, one hour in a luxury minivan and then 45 minutes on the speedboat (check your flight arrival times as the speedboat is only available at certain times of the day and certain times of the year) If mobility is an issue then this resort is probably not suitable as there are many steps to and from the different areas of the resort. Although ALL the staff were amazing, special thanks to :- Rak at the beach restaurant Norah & Khoi at the pool and beach bar and Noi at reception. A wonderful experience from start to finish

Wow what can I say - been around the world and this really is 5 star nothing to much trouble excellent quality and the staff !!! They make it all so special we will definitely return shame this wasn’t the end of our holiday as now off to phi phi and Phuket

Pimalai was our favourite hotel on the whole of our Thai/ Laos trip ( even preferred it to six senses). Despite arriving at 1am we got such a warm welcome and orientation ( and the trip from krabi airport was seamless with water and wifi on the vehicles). The hillside ocean view pool villa was the perfect place for an afternoon chill ( could easily connect my phone to tv for music / handy iron and board and an entertaining monkey - just had to remember to never leave the patio doors open). The breakfast buffet was a morning highlight ( and the best of our trip too ) before escaping to the beach or top pool where there were always plenty of loungers and where we loved the watermelon and pineapple on stick treats and top ups of chilled water). Loved all the restaurants in house ( which all had specials night like steak night- great options on that one) but also that you weren’t confined to the resort to dine and could easily walk along to the ‘why not bar’ for sundown drinks and music ( dj or guitarist) and a great restaurant at the beach end for a change of scene. Staff are genuinely fabulous, responded quickly on the app to book things for us and the manager really cared and visited. Here the pleasures ranged from a perfect flat white coffee to walking along silky white sand and swimming in a sea with no jelly fish ( and no mosquito bites either). Could’ve stayed here for weeks and will hopefully return.

One of the best hotels we have stayed it - they simply get everything right from your arrival at the airport to your departure. The rooms are beautiful, we stayed in room close to the beach and main pool. Loved the beach restaurant - our favourite in the evenings. Breakfast was exceptional with everything from fresh yoghurt and juices to eggs benedict and local specialities plus good coffee. Loved the pool and beautiful beach and appreciated the little things like fruit kebabs offered at your pool lounger! Hard to leave the resort but did venture out to Koh Lanta old town which was interesting and walked along the beach to the nearby traditional tourist village. Can't wait to return.

Staff at Pimalai are very hospitable, friendly, and above all, extremely hard working. They always had a smile on their faces even though I could tell that they were tired. They should all get bonus payments - especially during high seasons.

There was nothing that we didn't like.

We have just spent six nights at this hotel and we’re really impressed not just with the physical property but the whole feel of the place and the wonderfully positive,friendly and helpful staff. The only issue some may experience would be that it is built into a hillside but it is very easy to request a lift by electric buggy and we did not have to wait more than two minutes throughout our stay. The catering was excellent and the whole resort absolutely beautiful. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for looking after us so well
