Knights Inn Port Charlotte

Liked it was close to everything, lowest prices around....then we found out why! 1st time stayed, ppl walking up and down side walk asking if anyone had any drugs for sale, next morning men a few doors down get in a screaming match and fist fight over work schedule, hookers soliciting at night in parking lot, all website and booking sites say pets allowed, they don't say it's 10.00/night/pet. That really raises the room rate. Towels are BADLY stained, tub's and sinks don't drain so you wind up standing in 8 inches of dirty water while showing. Sink backs up really bad too. Decided to give it another try few wks later, got a nice big king room with sofa. The microwave plug doesnt stay in the wall, have to hold it in or it shuts off. Floors were so dirty our feet were black , tried socks but they got ruined and had to throw away. Drains still don't drain, ads say guest laundry but when i asked where it was they said they didn't have one that a laundromat is down the street, tubs stained and peeling , ac plug. Outlet is pulled away from the wall has a big hole in it where n outlet is. Tonight i had ppl try to get into my room 3 times ...doesnt help there's no lock on the door other than keycard. Couple nights ago my cat was looking at her food bowl funny. I walked over tp see what was wrong and there was a giant roach.. As in cockroach! Someone tried to say it was a palmetto bug... which comes from coxkroaches. Hao twalk 2 miles, 1 each way, to get to grocery stor

Not so good. Checked in late and on duty manager seemed annoyed we were bothering her at 7:30pm. Gave us a smoking room and we booked a non-smoking room. Had to go back and request it, also never gave us the WiFi password, had to ask. Complimentary breakfast was almost non-existent. Room was musty and there was a gap under the door with mildew and wood mold.

In the same parking lot as Bob Evans - made it nice to be able to walk to a restaurant!

The shower rod was almost falling out of it's brackets, The lack of amenities was obviously lacking. There was no room clean-up after my first nights stay, and my towels were left to pile up until the following day when i checked out. I will NEVER stay at another Knights Inn, and will tell everyone i know about my horrible experience.

The door had a gap under it allowing bugs, geckos and smoke from neighbors outside. Very smoky smelling everytime we went into the room. We don't recommend this place to non-smokers. There are no rules about how far from building smokers must be while smoking. The tub area was run down. 2 days the housekeeper had no idea how to make a bed. Had to request more linens. They knew 2 people were in the room but didn't get 2 of each towels. Continental breakfast: One other guest said "What continent is this from?: Not a good one continental breakfast. We went out to eat breakfast after the 1st 2 days. We stayed there 5 nights. Never again.

Two words- Bed Bugs!!!!

Front desk staff were friendly and efficient. However the room: floor was dirty (sand, dirt or sawdust), there was black hair in the sink and ice bucket, there was an old facecloth on the shower rod (indicating the shower was not totally clean and the curtain had not been changed. There was a desk, but no pen; and there was torn paper under the desk, meaning the floor had not been cleaned under the desk.. The black- out curtains were OK but had holes in them. No toiletries were provided....just leftover soap in the shower from the previous guest. The so-called breakfast was totally inadequate: the coffe was Luke warm. Breakfast was supposed to be available at 7 but by 7:30 the only food available was either bran flakes or fruit loops, or make-you-own waffles; there was syrup or grape jelly. Nothing else. The juice machine was "out of service". When I went to check out, there was nobody in the office and when I called out, there was no response- I assumed they did not want to know how my stay went! Parking was adequate and reasonably lighted. The motel is on Tamiami Trail so it is easy to get to (or away from). I would not consider staying there again and shared my negative experience with all my travel mates who (wisely) stayed elsewhere.

Overall, a nice stay. I had a good night's sleep, very quiet. Clerk/manager was very nice. Would stay here again.

The hotel is in poor shape and needs some serious upgrading. The bed was extremely hard, which along with the traffic noise made it difficult to sleep. While the breakfast was okay, there was very limited room to sit and enjoy it. Overall, room was below average for the price paid. Person checking me in was more interested in her visitor than my arrival, and more often than not the front desk was unattended and I had to wait a period of time for service.
