Very pleased during the stay in the hotel

The Crowne Plaza Yantai was my first hotel in China, so no expectations going in. Airport transfer was smooth, staff were incredibly accommodating. Was upgraded to a sea-view room at check-in, though being in the middle of winter, there wasn't much to look at. Loved the massive-sized bathtub. One curiosity was the location of the hotel, being very displaced from the city centre, requiring mostly travel by taxi.

This hotel is awesome! If you have to be in the area for work or for another item, this is your choice. The staff, room, services are excellent very well priced. I was pleasantly surprised by the booking.

leaky toilet and broken shower head for a 5 star hotel ? Come on..........

This Crowne Plaza is very convenient and somewhat close to the airport. Staff was extremely helpful and dinner past mid-night was good since I arrived really late.

Very impressed with the restaurant manager from Italy. He is very attentive to the guests and hands on every detail.

We were there in August and it was hot. The hotel was a sauna. I think they actually turned off the AC at night. There is a revolving restaurant on the top floor - Taste of Asia - 80F / 25C. The Japanese restaurant had a TV on top volume in the dining room and they would not turn it off, despite that we were the only people in there. And the best part - the bed smelled like something had crawled inside and died.

Great and grand spacious hotel in a not big city. Very friendly staff around and very hard working General Manager who personally chat with me after his work. When I left earlier in the morning on the snowy whether, front desk staff helped to check airport for me and prepare breakfast as take away. Miss J. Zhang in charge of the receiption, was very friendly and introduce the hotel facilities with a big smile. Andy Liu in C bar is also nice. Worth every penny. The sea view is also a bonus! Highly recommended.

By all menas this hotel looks like a Crown Plaza even has the name of the Crown Plaza but is not a Crown Plaza. At checkin the staff wouldnt understand that the hotel room charge was prepaid through Expedia. The room was dirty. for them the only cleaning required is the toiletbowl not the floor and the walls. I found that to be the same at all 5 star hotels I stayed at in China. The bell buy stands in the middle room expecting a tip and even asks for it At breakfast the staff follows you arround to the breakfast buffet while you are putting food on your plate to ask for your signature. As if they cant wait untill I return to my table. The pool is ice cold and the staff followed me to the elivator to claim the towel that I was using to stay warm. As if they couldnt obtain it from the room. Management spend more time trying to apologise for staff mistakes than actually training the staff. Having said all of this the food is excellent the veiw is out of this world but the finishing requires maintenance. Although the hotel was built only a few years ago it is already showing signs of aging and walking arround you can see craks and water leaks. This hotel is not fit to be called a crown plaza by any standard.

Nice hotel for the area ... but the area is not Westernized much at all ... bed is hard ... The breakfast buffet not so good, which is the only am option. But nice room, friendly staff. Not much in direct area other than conv center. Fine hotel - but have the right expectations.
