Lovely location, staff were faultless and the hotel was well run. Brilliant food in two restaurants.

A country hotel with class in a brilliant location and the perfect attitude to customer service, whatever walk of life that you may come from. The owners clearly love their staff and thus the staff love their job and serving their customers. The chef does a brilliant job with the menu choices and the food's preparation. We were delighted in every respect with our stay. It must be good as we only live two miles away but still book for dinner and stay the night so that we can relax and enjoy the view over the garden from the beautifully designed dining room.

Just returned home after a two night stay. A totally wonderful experience with great staff, clean and well presented rooms along with a well equipped gym and spa. Breakfast was amazing. I really hope we can return!

Returned to this wonderful hotel with friends for a super relaxing weekend. It never disappoints we feel super chilled as soon as we walk through the door. All the staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. The food in the restaurant is of the highest quality and mostly locally sourced. We will definitely be back to our happy place soon

Excellent all round family run spa hotel, friendly staff and consistently high standard of cuisine. Traditional approach to service, e.g. table linen, enhancing experience of peaceful rural location. Already considering rebooking in 2026.

The peaceful location on the edge of Dartmoor

The great reviews are completely justified in our opinion. We had an excellent relaxing stay at Ilsington. We couldn’t fault it. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. It had a very homely feel to the place and we made the most of the Spa. The food was great too and we left feeling completely relaxed and certain to return again in the future.

We loved our short stay here - incredible food, faultless service and a fantastic spa. The hotel is ideally perched on the southern edge of Dartmoor. There are plenty of attractions and wilderness on its doorstep. The spa was clean, ambient and had great facilities. The food at the Blue Tiger Inn vastly exceeded our expectations and the breakfast was among the tastiest hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had, with local ingredients and plenty of choice. Every member of staff who we interacted with, from front desk to waiters to the cleaning crew, were friendly and professional. I would certainly recommend and definitely return.

This was a light lunch for a birthday. Between us we had the chicken liver parfait, prawn sandwich, the parsnip and rosemary soup, the smoked fish salad and the mango and ginger icecream. We were served by Olivia who was lovely and looked after us really well. The food was delicious and it was a lovely occasion.
