Tempus Hotel Taichung

Hotel in the city centre, about 12 min walk from the City Hall train station. Interesting it still uses physical room key, which I have not seen for 10 years!

very close to Metro station, friendly staffs, but unfortunately the room is very old modern, smelly, air conditioning blows air only... doesnt matter how many degrees you try to adjust... quite pity.

There was two entrances on the hotel. The actual room looks doesn’t look compare to the picture

Not as described in the photos, but older and less formal. Something about the room felt slightly creepy.

Room is not clean; a lot of dust. And even had asked to change bed, the house keeper skipped changing the bed sheet.

Clean and good value. The breakfast buffet is excellent. They are still using “real” room key. This is very outdated and I had to be careful about not losing it.

Well run hotel but the rooms are getting long in the tooth and need an update. Service is quite pleasant and efficient and the breakfast is quite good

My recent stay at Taichung’s Tempus Hotel was absolutely amazing. The staff were excellent in every aspect – checkin/checkout, calling taxis, recommending day trips throughout the city and surrounding areas, and even assisting with the occasional translation. The deputy general manager, Vita, actually introduced herself to us on the second day of our stay just to ensure we had everything we needed. The gym was well beyond my expectations for a hotel gym – easily the best I’ve seen thus far in my travels throughout Taiwan. In addition to the standard array of cable and cardio machines, the gym was equipped with dumbbells up to 100lbs, several pull-up bars, a full squat cage with barbell and plates, and even a trap bar. The gym even included lockers, showers, and an adjustable air conditioning system. The hotel breakfast also exceeded expectations, both in terms of the menu and the hours of operation. The buffet set up included plenty of meat options (smoked salmon, sliced deli meats, mackerel, chicken nuggets, sausage, etc.) as well as a generous selection of fruits, vegetables, pastries, and beverages. The best part is the breakfast buffet remained open until 11:00am daily, so there was never a need to rush or wake up early to make it in time. As for the room, itself, I booked one of the hotel’s more basic rooms, but there were no issues. The room was clean and provided everything expected from a five-star hotel. The air conditioning functioned well and the housekeeping staff were on point. Overall, Tempus Hotel delivered a superb experience and I look forward to staying again next time I’m in Taichung.

A decent hotel. Breakfast very good, though at a fee.
