Our check in was amazing! We were greeted by Jamie who made it felt like she was welcoming us into her home. She was professional, warm, knowledgeable about the hotel and area and SHE CARED about us. Jamie gave us exceptional recommendations that we used for our three night stay, on tours, restaurants and shopping that were off the beaten path and exactly what we asked her for. We appreciated her.

We were traveling with my 96-year-old mother who wanted a handicapped adjoining room to ours for safety reasons. We booked well in advance because we needed accommodations. The hotel contacted us to say there were no adjoining rooms in the hotel, but that we could have next door rooms. We agreed and discussed the details of the rooms via e-mail. When we arrived, our rooms were 1/2 way down the hall from each other! NOT ACCEPTABLE! The receptionist said that all the rooms closer to the handicapped room were taken. So, the best they could do was to put Mother in a regular room across from our room. She struggled in the bathroom with the lower toilet and could not take a shower because of stepping over the edge of the tub and not having a hand-held shower. We will not book rooms here again when visiting family in the area. We will stay at Best Western across the highway or at a Choice Hotel in Wilmington. In other things, our toilet appeared to be on its way to backing up as on the last day o our stay, it would bubble up when the upstairs people above us would flush their toilet. We notified the front desk. The rooms beside us were relatively sound-proof, but the room above us was loud! We heard every footstep and coughing spell the customers had and could hear partial conversations!
Despite the overall friendliness of the staff, I had a single complaint regarding the handicap shower in my room. I do not recall explicitly requesting one, and it was a walk-in shower equipped with a handheld showerhead. Consequently, towels were required to be placed by the shower since it was open. On my initial night using the shower, I was unaware of the significant amount of water that accumulated on the floor, necessitating me to get up with towels. I believe that the shower could benefit from a device to prevent water from spreading excessively or a larger drain. In contrast, the other shower I stayed at had a walk-in shower with a shower door. Apart from this minor inconvenience, the staff was generally pleasant, and the establishment maintained a high level of cleanliness.
