Village Hotel Nottingham

Great hotel , lots on offer restaurant and Bar , coffee shop and fantastic leisure facilities .

The paint smell on floor 2 was quite strong but will ease in time .

Facilities looked good but didn't use them.

Very hard to get a table for a meal in the evening. Didn't book so I guess our fault, but didn't realise it would get crazy. Seems to me, too many rooms and not enough space. Also bedding was not right for me. I am a front sleeper, and as such, move around a lot. Kept getting tangled in the bedding so no sleep.

I use this hotel two or three times a year when business takes me to Chilwell. It is very well situated, a good car park, adjacent to a retail park and a nature reserve. My room was, as last time, well appointed with the facility of doing work on the laptop. The bathroom facility was modern and immaculately clean. Unlike many hotels, the heating / air con system was easy to use. A good evening meal, a comfortable night, and a good breakfast.

This is a very minor niggle but the voiceover on the TV informing one when one has changed channels or increased /turned down the volume was a bit 'Big Brother'!

- how far the room was away from absolutely everything! - the noise, the other guests everywhere were so noisy - above and outside the room! - one of my friends got lost trying to find the room back from reception! It was awful and not worth what I paid for!

Nothing much

No phone in room. No Aircon (ridiculous). No mini bar. Offhand attitude at reception. Bathroom grab rails poorly thought out. Access to room service hard to figure out.

Very easy check in and the rooms were comfortable, well equipped and comfy. Convenient location, and plenty of parking. Free wifi was really useful, and had a strong enough connection to do several hours of work (often rare in other hotels I've stayed in!). Will definitely return in the future if required!
