Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Newport South by IHG

Good location just off the highway and recently renovated. Quick check-in process. Beds were comfortable. Cleanliness was average.

Clean, nice pool for kids, good breakfast

Easy access. Was the dirtiest HIE I've ever stayed in. Water machine at breakfast took about 2 minutes until it poured water.

Andre at the front desk went above and beyond! I was there for grief camp for my kids and also rock hunting and he let me show him some of my rocks. He also was very compassionate. Thank you Andre, I hope I spelled it right.

Everything was amazing!

The bathroom had multiple long black hair strands on the floor. Every time I'd pick some up I'd see more. When I went to shower the following morning I found another one in the tub. There was way too much hair for a bathroom that should have been thoroughly cleaned. It was really disgusting.

We stay here when in the area. Love the heated indoor pool and the nice, quiet, and convenient location.

he property was very dirty, with literal dirt and mud on the floor in the elevators and lobby halls, and it was there the entire stay, suggesting it wasn't just fresh from a messy visitor. Our room was 409, and it was nasty. It had a very pungent smell, stains on the wall, and cracks in the walls. There were also bugs on the ceiling that I noticed when I lay down. The thermostat on the wall had no power, but I was able to turn the A/C on at the unit. However, when I turned on the A/C, a very strong odor emerged. I looked at the A/C vent and noticed it was full of mold and mildew. We could not stay in the room due to health risks. I told the staff, and they were nice and did not give me any problems when I asked for another room. The other room was much better. But I can't imagine how room 409 got so bad. The overall property was poorly cleaned and maintained; we did not stay for breakfast due to the cleanliness. Also, the drink station was very dirty and was not draining properly, and the pancake machine was out of order. I assume this is because these machines are not properly cleaned.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn express Newport city for three days because my husband is doing repairs on a building that was destroyed in the hurricane. I had multiple people come in my room, a man who was banging at the door while I was sleeping early in the morning came in and said he was getting the towels . I had a housekeeper walk in without knocking, and said she didn’t know anybody was in the room. When I was leaving, I went down to get a cart and came back up to my room. I was having trouble with the old luggage card they have she came into my room and asked if I needed help and started putting bags on my cart. After putting my bags in, I realized I was missing my clutch, So I asked the front desk if I could run back up there and check I couldn’t find it and I left. Three days later my son told me that $250 was put on his card for Smoking. The manager at first said the housekeeper walked in on me smoking, which is untrue, and then he changed it to say Cigarettes and the ashes were found. I told him it was undoubtedly from the last person who stayed. The room was dirty. He told me to call back the next day at 10 AM and I did. The front desk said the manager/owner was not there, and I was unable to speak to housekeeping. He also said that the manager/owner said he was leaving the fee on. The owner/manager also said that he doesn’t do this to everyone. Which was strange I don’t know which is lying, but I will never stay at a Holiday Inn express again.
