Old Facilities but excellent position for swimming and young children

One of the best place in Chios .

I have stayed here many times over the years. Half of the rooms are okay and need renovation and do not have very good air-conditioning. The other rooms are slightly more modern with good air-conditioning. All the rooms have excellent views over The pool, the beach and the sea. You usually get a little balcony and access to the garden. The breakfast is very generous and with lots of choice. The staff are all very obliging and friendly especially by the pool bar area. parking can be a little tricky at times. The beach is lovely and clean although there are not too many sun lounges and umbrellas so you have to be quick. The sea is clean and warm and excellent for children and couples because it is very shallow water with nice soft sand. The food at the hotel is also very good in the restaurant but if you want to eat somewhere else there is an excellent local Taverna less than three minutes walk away along the same beach front.

Stayed here for a wedding in Chios with my family. Staff was great. Great buffet for both breakfast lunch and dinner. I think they were all free. Tiki bar was great. Staff was great. Front desk was very helpful. My son likes bed the pool. Ocean water was warm. Great view of Turkey. Very inexpensive. Rustic but clean. Beach has leaves in the water that at first are intimidating but are not intrusive in the least. I will go back. Just a long plane ride.

The hotel is basic but comfortable. My room was clean and spacious. The staff was helpful in arranging a tour, calling for taxis, sharing general locations of things, etc. The breakfast provided was delicious. There is a dive shop on premises that was fantastic! There was little information provided upon check-in, but I arrived at 1:00am so probably was not awake enough to understand anything, anyways! There is only basic soap provided as far as toiletries are concerned, and beach towels were hard to come by. I would absolutely return to this hotel for another stay. As a matter of fact I am planning my next trip now!

We arrived and the AC was broken and we couldn't get an iron. The front desk was of no help and told us nothing could be done until the next day and had no other room they could give us. They made no concession (comp room night, free meal, etc.) and didn't even provide a fan. The next day came and they were supposedly going to fix the AC, but despite a technician coming and telling us it was fixed, nothing was. In total we let them know 3 times that the AC wasn't fixed and still we slept in a room that was hotter than it was outdoors. My wife and I landed up getting up at 4am to complain further and after a very firm conversation we finally were given a different room. Not one concession or even an apology. This was the most terrible service we encountered on out whole trip which affected our entire stay in Chios.

Good location but some of the rooms are tired. Short of staff. Even pool bar cannot be opened until 11:00-12:00 in the mornings. The towels, that are supposed to be white, are grey. We made our booking for double bedroom 6 months ago, but got twin room. Then they changed the room but it was very tired and was not very clean. Pool is very dirty, filthy..

Terrific location, great beach access and nice pool. The room was clean, A/C worked well, nice shower. The TV was a few snowy channels on a 12-inch screen, and the bed was like sleeping on a gym mat. Great breakfast too.

The location is awesome with wonderful views. Great restaurants only a short walk away. Very good breakfast and table service. Perfect spot in Karfas.

The Golden Sand was a delightful surprise with the room, the friendly staff and the ambience of the rooms. Everybody did their best to make us feel at home and make our stay a memorable one. If I were to give it one minus, it would be the poor placement of the elevators.
