"Excellent"

Bathroom was a bit small even for one person. However, for me the hotel was affordable and close to the sightseeing areas. It did its job.

"Really nice hotel in great location."

8.0

Hotel Albert I is a lovely guesthouse and the owners are really nice friendly people. It is just a 10 minute walk from the train station and a further two minute walk in to the main area of Bruges. Breakfast was sufficient and was a nice way to start the day. The room was clean and decorated tastefully, and also came with a safe which is a big positive for us. My only criticism really, and it's probably out of the owners' hands is that with it being an old building the floor boards are extremely noisy once stepped on, and if like us you have people staying in the room above you who like to move about a lot at all hours, it can have a negative impact on your nights sleep. Our room led directly off the stairs and so it was like a herd of elephants passing our door as people came in at night and then went down for breakfast. I wouldn't let this put you off staying though, because this really is a gem of a guesthouse in a great location for the many attractions of Bruges.

"Comfy cozy in mideviel Bruges"

10.0

Charming and very comfortable. The husband & wife were outstanding in their assistance and service. If there was any downside it would be walking up 3 flights of stairs, but this is Bruges and most of the buildings are 400+ yrs old. We were on the top floor - the view was very good. breakfast was on the A/A+ side of what we've experienced throughout Europe.

"Glad we chose this hotel"

10.0

Due to last minute change in plans it sent us searching for a new hotel. Nice old world feel with modern amenities. Best bed so far in our six week trip. Friendly and helpful staff. Tasty selection of cold meats and cheeses (soft cooked egg available). Best tasting fruit juices so far. Luggage storage was useful. Only reason not to stay here is if you can not climb 1or 2 flights of stairs.

"The worst hotel ever!"

2.0

The description of the hotel was false at all. The room size was around 9 sq.meters instead of 16 sq.meters (as described). Instead of "city view" we got destroyed abandoned next building view, that building closed all space in front of the window. The owner told us that this is a standard room, and 16 sq. meters includes the bathroom (?!) The room did not have any space to put our luggage, or step around the bed. We could not open bathroom door because of the bed, which did not allow the door to be opened at least by one half. The hotel does not have an elevator, just inconvenient tight stairs. Bedding and bed (like a place for sleeping in a prison) itself were terrible, we could not sleep, the whole body was hot, wet, and sweaty. Breakfast was o'key. Not recommended at all!
