Location

Not the character I would expect for an old New England inn. More of a family/recreational crash pad. Cold unoccupied heat off not an off season spot to stay.

Common area very nice, library, dinning room and hall

The property was not clean. We found food in the room from previous guests, unclean carpets, and kitchen dishes.

"Historic house in a quiet town and neighborhood."

This historic house takes one back to the history of the area. We stayed in a charming room that was one of the original bedrooms in this house. Breakfast was provided. It is just a 10-15 minute drive from Conway and the Kancamagus Highway. Conway is a busy town. Fryeburg was much quieter and a delightful hamlet in which to spend the night. We definitely would recommend a stay at this property. We would also recommend dinner at the nearby 302 West Smokehouse. It can be crazy busy but great food and fun atmosphere.
