Absolutely charming 300 year old b&b pub/hotel. We arrived too late for dinner but had drinks at the bar and a very nice breakfast in the morning. Room was very comfortable but do try to make allowances for the stairs as the building is 300 years old! Would go back again!

Great place to stay when looking to complete the fells in that area. A short drive from Pooley Bridge but away from the crowds. Positives: Ample parking at the back of the pub, wonderful staff, great food/beers and at very reasonable prices, great beer garden and the room was fine for what I needed. Negatives: No shampoo or soap in the rooms, carpets need replacing and not much choice for breakfast. Tip: Definitely book a table for your evening meal. I was sat at the bar and watched them have to turn away seven different groups, all wanting to eat, within the space of thirty minutes. I was so glad I’d called the day before and made a reservation. I’ll definitely be staying here again.

What a wonderful pub. Can't emphasise how amazing all the staff were. They could not have done anymore to make you feel welcome. Even the chef stayed after food service was closed, to make my dinner when I was delayed. They made my stay so relaxing. Can't fault anything.

Extremely friendly and welcoming. We had 2 dogs with us and they were very welcome too.

Brilliant staff who couldn’t do enough to help and the breakfast was just fantastic and the quality of the food was 1st class
