"No frills, gets the job done"

Overall, it’s a bit old school Fairfield but does the basics right. Clean and safe location with nice spread for breakfast. The pool and facility overall is a little underwhelming and dated. There are some funny smells in the room. Given that there are not many options in town, I would come back but didn’t give me any warm and fuzzy feelings either. Staff were friendly and helpful.

"Excellent"

Room was nice, the pool was heated (low 60’s when we were there). Breakfast was good - convenient to the national park. We had a very nice stay.

"No complaints, all good"

Check in went quick, staff friendly, facilities clean, breakfast good. Super close to the North Joshua Tree entrance.

The pool was quite small.

"The good and the bad."

Hotel and staff were great. They had the best breakfast waffles of any hotel I've ever stayed. On the down side for how much I paid I expected housekeeping to service my room daily. You have to make an appointment 24hrs in advance to get housekeeping in. Really? I had to carry wet used towels down stairs to swap out with clean ones. I won't stay there again.

"Good"

We had a great stay, but have two issues. 1) when we booked our room we received a TOTAL CHARGE for our stay. when we checked out we received a $30 charge ($10 per day) for parking. This is the only hotel during our stay that charged for parking, but OK. Our beef is that we were not told upfront about the charge and it was not included in the total charge that we were to pay. 2) we were not told that we had to ask for our room to be "refreshed with towels each day". the web site says that we would receive daily cleaning.
