Karafuu Beach Resort & Spa

We had a great time in the hotel. Very nice and large room. Very clean. Private beach. Staff was very kind and helped with everything needed. Food was various and good for the children. At the hotel you can find Italian restaurant which is great.

I loved the surroundings of the whole of the resort, so many options of places to relax or eat we didn’t have time to go to all of them. The view of the beach was amazing, you could walk out onto the beach as far as you wanted. Definitely coming back

C’était notre deuxième séjour à Zanzibar en famille et nous n’avons vraiment pas regretté cet hôtel. L’hôtel bénéficie d’un cadre exceptionnel avec une plage magnifique et très bien entretenue. Le personnel est d’une grande gentillesse, toujours souriant et disponible, ce qui rend le séjour encore plus agréable. La propreté est irréprochable, que ce soit dans les chambres, les parties communes ou les espaces extérieurs. Les buffets sont variés et de bonne qualité, chacun y trouve son bonheur, et les shows du soir étaient tous supers. Bien que le Karafuu soit un grand resort, il conserve une atmosphère chaleureuse et reste à taille humaine, ce qui est très appréciable. Nous souhaitons adresser une mention spéciale à Mme Supati, Manager en charge des réservations, qui a fait preuve d’un professionnalisme et d’une attention remarquables. Elle a véritablement fait “the extra mile” pour rendre notre séjour le plus agréable possible. En résumé, si nous revenons à Zanzibar, c’est avec grand plaisir que nous reviendrons séjourner au Karafuu. Nous recommandons vivement cet hôtel à tous ceux qui recherchent un cadre idyllique, un service de qualité et une expérience inoubliable en famille.

The staff was friendly and helpful, except the reception. Especially good service by Wimbi diving team, that operates at site. The beach was good and sunbeds around the pool comfortable. Plenty of trees growing at the hotel area, so it’s nicely green. Good wifi. Towels were changed daily.

The roof of our bungaloo started leaking, when it was raining. And the leakage was just over our bed. I spent a couple of hours at the reception sorting out this problem, before we were moved to another room. The hotel description says, that it has kid’s club, but actually it doesn’t. Once there was a playground, which is now a storage of broken stuff. Water in the shower was barely warm. And if you happenned to have shower around 6p.m., when everyone back to their rooms, then there was no water at all, so I had to wait. Nothing was done about this. Generally the rooms are depreciated and not so clean. Many small fixings required. Constant electricity cuts, that might happen several times every evening. When we were checking out, the porters and security guards stopped us several times, saying, that something was unpaid, though the bill was closed. This was very disturbing.
