I asked our travel agent for somewhere in Thailand that is quiet and suitable for a few days retreat. That is exactly what it was. The resort is clean, well maintained and constantly serviced by friendly staff. Breakfast was so varied to suit all tastes and Western and Thai cuisines. No-one can honestly go hungry here. Meals served throughout the day are good quality, well presented and reasonably priced. The beach is beautiful with very little tidal difference so the sea is always at your feet. Clear waters, warm even in February and safe for all. Towels provided on the beach but grab your lounger early to ensure you get a good choice. The rooms are clean and spacious with daily bottles of water supplied. Our room was high on the hillside, so it was good exercise every time we went up there. Beware if you have difficulty with 85+ steps up and down. There is not a lot of scope for places to visit on the island. We walked each time but in the high humidity- tiring and plenty of water. The bus service is only a maximum of 50THB but seems to be very erratic and we couldn't find out the official timings. There are taxis but at 300THB we declined (skinflints). Of the those beaches and resorts that we saw and explored we conclude that Ao Prao is by far the best of anything. For a quiet, relaxing break it is ideal (as long as you are not seeking to go sightseeing).

We’ve had some really wonderful days at Ao Prao Resort. We chose the place due to location and good food rating, and we were not disappointed. Such a relaxed and comfortable place, great location, super friendly staff and wonderful Thai food. We even tried the cooking class and go back with a trick or two. This place ❤️ We’d be back in a blink of an eye!

Frukosten var 10/10, personalen var så hjälpsamma och trevliga, lugnet som infann sig här på ao prao. Att det fanns ett litet gym var ett plus! Vill man till stan så var det väldigt enkelt att ta sig in med taxi eller att hyra moppe. Vi kommer absolut att boka här igen!

Läget och närheten till strand

Solsängarna borde uppgraderas. Det anstår inte ett hotell av denna klass att ha plastsängar. Alla borde vara i gediget trä. Blir snyggare då.

Incredible experience, we have come to this hotel several times, including Ao Prao resort from the same group, and it's still amazing. The staff is extremely professional, helpful, and welcoming. Thanks for this wonderful stay.

Staff were fabulous , great beach front location

No feather pillows at all A bit too remote , hotel should put on a shuttle bus to main town for half price of the tuk tuks Safe in the room was free and not secured to the wall!
