The Gardens at West Maui

It was very fun

We enjoyed our five days at this property. This one bedroom unit was very well equipped with more than adequate kitchen utensils and paper and laundry supplies. There was a washer/dryer in the unit as well as 2 full bathrooms. The unit was clean. It was generally quiet in the day not, but since our unit was near the front of the property, we were subject to some road noise. However, I think those units located further back into the property were not subject to this noise. Check in was smooth though we had to register remotely since we arrived after the on-site office closed for the day. When we did deal with the on-site staff, we found her to not be very helpful and in fact, was rude. She was the only negative experience we had during our stay.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Check was a breeze. Our studio had everything we needed. A well equipped kitchen and handy laundry. Great location for everything. Beaches and restaurant are close by. Roosters crowing at all hours so light sleepers take earplugs. Otherwise lovely to enjoy the chickens.

This resort is off the "beaten path" and totally lacking the "island vibe" that you expect in Hawaii. It is located a block from the water, which you access by walking through others' property. The view is the parking lot from the front door and a wall/fence from the patio door. The kitchen is very well-equipped, and the unit was of ample size and included a bedroom and two bathrooms. We used Sheel Vacation Club points through RCI, who charged us $398 to secure the reservation in addition to our points.

When you are a 5 minute walk to Napili Bay and a 10 minute walk to Kapalua Bay, life is good! Although "The Gardens" is not a 5 star resort with tons of amenities, it is a great place to stay. The pool is very well maintained & cleaned and the kids enjoyed it immensely. The outdoor grills are kept very clean. The units have everything you would need to be comfortable, and the washer & dryer are a big plus. We enjoyed our free lei-making class, too. Roosters can be annoying, but they are also fun to watch from the lanai with their little families. We did not see any roaches, but were plagued by tiny black ants in the kitchen. The exterminators came one day and I think that helped. Lisa at the front desk was great. We were there to attend the Maui Invitational Basketball Tournament and it was about a 20-minute drive.

Great beaches nearby. Suite is nice with king bed, kitchen, living room. But, hundreds of small ants, cockroaches at night, you hear every step from the upper suite, office is closed 2 days a week, no beach chairs or umbrella, neighbor dog barking daily, roosters wake you up at 5 am

The location is amazing, but it's so noisy with the all the roosters running around being super loud 3-4 am waking you up every night until morning. Property has all the necessities, but it's very aged.

Look and bbq was great. Great parking. Need a little bit more on local attractions, shops and eating places.
