The Coronet Hotel

I was checking out few hotels in pune for my guests from abraod in this location this hotel was one of my choice based on some reviews but my personal opinion varies from the other reviews 1. Entrance lobby was shabby 2. The reception is actually on first floor so ppl visiting gets confused in the begining only and there is practically no one to attend on the ground floor. 3. Lifts are pooyrply maintained and there is only one lift so in case u hav more guests they will have to wait 4. rooms are okish not so spacious not so small but here when the person came to show us the room it was not opening the door was jammed and the another room that was shows was alot in dark.. we went at noon still it was dark... and bathroom had some kind of stink. All in all I rejected the rooms of this hotel for my guests.

I visited Pune during September for business meet. I stayed there for 1 Night. Staff is very cooperative. Rooms were okay not that clean and good. But as I had to stay overnight only so that's okay. Room size was small and okay for a single person. I had dinner there and as I was very late so before restaurant get closed reception guy suggested me a very Nice PARANTHA and I loved it. Food was superb. Morning breakfast was also up to the mark and good. Tasty food. I would suggest them to just keep cleanliness in rooms and keep service good. I would suggest staying there. Stay was very good there

Please immediately update the facilities/amenities details for this hotel. This Hotel has changed its only Restaurant into a Veg restaurant and there is no Lounge/Bar. On asking, they mentioned that it has been a year since they shut the lounge/bar and change the restaurant into veggie but these amenities are still showing up on their website and on hotels.com, which is very misleading considering if someone wants to just get to the hotel and spend the evening at the lounge/bar/restaurant. Apart from this, there is no other concern in terms of stay, accommodation and reception. All good otherwise.

After 3 room changes they could not fix the A/C and the Wi-fi. The rooms had thermostats to control the a/c but they seems to be for decoration purpose cause on inquiry to control the temperature I was told that the a/c can either be on or off but the temperature cant be controlled. The Wi-fi is an open network, but the underlying internet connection was not working, on inquiry, an access key was sent to my room....and nobody knew what was to be done with it, including their tech support guys. Pros: Very conveniently located on Apte road in Deccan Gymkhana area Cons: Service seems to be struggling, a few rooms are damp with molds, very limited parking area.

Visited in June, the management team is committed to utmost care oft he guest. Mr. Abhijeet Gupta took the pains of getting a routet installed in the room for a sngle guest. I lost my invoices, butt he hotel staff deliverd the scanned right into my mailbox, that's why they are committed to service. Complimentry breakfast is yet another story, large spread of north indian, southindian buffet! Strongly Recommended!

It is a convenient small hotel which could improve its decor since it is worn out and outdated. Once again a request for a packed breakfast for an early morning check out was reluctant but eventually sandwiches were packed. But since my checkout was at 6 am and I wanted change for Rs 100 I was informed that there was no money kept in the recemption at that hour!!!!!! I did not have to pay fortunately since the bill was settled by the company directly but if I had to pay then would I have to give exact change!!!

I was visiting Pune for an event and needed a place for one night stay. I stayed at Coronet in Deccan Gymkhana and I cannot recommend this place higher for the value for money that it offers. The staff is polite and helpful; the service is prompt and the restaurant (look up Shahji's Parathas) is actually frequented by even non-guests for the paratha thali that if offers (no more needs to be said). The menu is quite elaborate and is priced optimally. The room was clean and spacious. The linen was spot clean and the furniture is quite functional. We really enjoyed our overall stay at the hotel. Would recommend this as a great value for money option for quick haul through the city.

If you accept the fact that hygiene and cleanliness standards in India are somewhat lower than what you may expect in the Western world, you will be ok with this hotel. The hotel advertises many things which are actually not there - e.g. there was no minibar in my room (507), there was no in-room safe, room service is quite restricted at busy times, etc etc Main point to note is this is a 100% vegetarian hotel. Not even eggs. So the breakfast becomes irrelevant if you dont like spicy indian food. You are very much limited to toasts, which for some reasons takes them 15 minutes to prepare. The hotel ran out of beer on two days, but they were kind enough to send an errand boy to nearby shop and get it from outside - just that it took 30 minutes. The staff is very helpful, friendly and polite. They will go out of their way to make sure that you are looked after well. Of course this does not compensate for stained towels and dirty sheets - which they will promptly change for you if you complain. Fifth floor can get very noisy if they have an event on the terrace (6th floor). The noise goes on well past midnight, so ask for a room on 3rd or 4th floor if you want to go to bed early. The restaurant on the ground floor (Shahaji Parantha) gets very busy on Fri/Sat/Sun. The room service will be slow on those days. Neighbourhood is very convenient and very safe. Close to JM Road and FC Road, where you will find plenty of shops and restaurants.
