Comfort Suites Troy-I75

The handicapped accessible room I requested was as I asked. The staff was nice I encountered. The complimentary breakfast was excellent and lots of people were taking advantage of it. There is a Texas Roadhouse restaurant and Outback Steakhouse across the street. There are plenty of places to eat in the area from fast food to casual dining. There is plenty of gas stations to fuel up at. Shopping is available at Walmart, Meijer, Kroger's, Lowe's, as well as some unique stores in downtown Troy. There is a nice self service Laundromat called Sunset Cleaners about 2 miles from the hotel if you need to wash clothes. I think they might have a washer and dryer at the hotel even. The pool looked nice even though my daughter and I didn't use it. We were not in physical shape to use it this trip.

The location would be hard to find if not familiar with the area, it is back a side street, behind the Walmart and not easily identified how to get back to it. This hotel is usually a great one to stay at but this time someone was running a sweeper down the hallway from our room at 2 am until 2:30 am. The next morning when my daughter was taking our luggage to the car there was a police officer in the lobby and then he accompanied what she said looked like parents and a teen boy up to the 3rd floor. She said no one was in cuffs. Then trying to check out, there was a man trying to extend his stay but my daughter noticed he was slurring his words and appeared drunk. We are originally from the area and never felt unsafe in Troy but like every place times are a changing. The room looked very clean and I am not saying it wasn't but I woke up 2 different mornings with bug bites and I wasn't outside at night to really have gotten them outside. The hotel wasn't as enjoyable as it usually is because of some of the other guests we encountered.
