Green Gables Inn, A Four Sisters Inn

We loved the scenery, and how close the ocean was to our room. We also liked that there were a ton of restaurants nearby. The rooms were updated, instead of the old Victorian houses that have old school furnishings. The breakfast was nice.

The street was a little crowded, but we were still able to park. And we did have noisy neighbors upstairs that everytime they walked you would hear it creeking on our ceiling. We also didn't like that kids were allowed, but they were quiet enough.

A visit to a Four Sisters Inn is always, a treat! We arrived at Green Gables, and were taken immediately up to our beautiful “Chapel Room.” The room was a nice combination of historic and modern comfort. There was a bathroom across the hall, dedicated to this room, and our entire stay we did not encounter another guest when in the hallway. The view from the window is spectacular, and the two small windows when open allow you to hear the waves from your room. We enjoyed time in the common areas of the house when having wine and appetizers in the afternoon, fresh cookies, and tea in the evening or the nicely prepared breakfast each morning. Directly across the street are stairs that lead to the shoreline trail making for good ways to start or end each day. Staff is wonderful and they make sure you have a good stay.

This is the second time my wife and I have stayed here and it was just as enjoyable as the first time. The location is outstanding. Our room in the cottage was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Having a separate tub and shower and double sinks makes getting ready to go out so much easier. We would definitely stay again.

no real closet to put clothes bedroom quite cold ( we are in January) & heating system is like an enormous hair dryer very noisy

Great inn… so many great memories made for our family. Breakfast was excellent and the options changed daily!

Everything about the hotel was amazing! The breakfast was just delicious and to come home from a long day of walking to find fresh cookies and a meat and cheese tray was such a surprise! The room was very spacious and the view was wonderful. We loved listening to the waves crash against the shore.

I wish the mirrors were not so low in the bathroom but I see why it was done that way

We loved our stay. Traveling from Oakdale CA we stopped and hiked in The Pinnacles before checking in at the Inn in Pacific Grove. When we arrived at the Inn we were unexpectedly treated to wine and cheese with a wonderful view of the ocean from the Inn's dining room. Such a lovely way to start our stay after exerting ourselves hiking. It was refreshing. We also enjoyed the safety of the area and were comfortable enough to walk to and from dinner after sunset...joyously anticipating cookies and coffee upon our return. The Inn is about a 10 minute walk from Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row. If I could describe the environment of the Inn and the neighborhood it rests in with one word it would be RESTORATIVE.

They really did such a great job in the hospitality department that I only can think of one or two things to improve upon. The bed was too hard for my taste. One other thing I think could benefit the experience is a more readily available history of the house. They did have a couple of short write ups on two of its owners, the first being the man who built it and then another of the current owner. We had to ask. It would be a nice touch to have something put together and available without asking. The staff also didn't seem to know much about the history of the house.

Breakfast was very nice. There was a warm egg dish each morning and fresh-baked treats (banana bread or scone) as well as muesli, yogurt, fresh fruit, bread and coffee/tea. In the afternoon there was a happy hour with a house white/red some crackers and cheese and/or cookies. The living spaces were light, bright and comfortable. Bathroom was spacious. Bed was comfortable. Dining room had beautiful views of the ocean across the street.

Didn't realize that the larger room (with sitting area/living room) would be in a separate building with external staircase. The heating was old-school manual in-room controlled. Noisy when running and slightly smelly.
