Very convenient for skiing and a lot of good spots to eat.

Great location, super nice staff, very comfortable accommodations.

There was no hot water and never any effort to remedy the situation. And Vacasa has never responded to the claim.

There is a hot water problem in this facility. Cold showers after skiing and before dinner were a bummer. Vacasa is the management company and it took 2 phone calls and an email to receive a response, which was that the building cannot meet hot water demands during busy times and I should try the shower at the gym. The unit was dated, carpet needs replacing. If you're planning to cook, the kitchen had the bare minimum (and cheap) pots, pans and utensils. The facility should not be marketed or priced as a luxury accommodation. The saving feature is its proximity to the gondola that takes you to the base of Steamboat.

I booked a room at this location and was cancelled because they apparently overbooked. No communication from management, just an email cancellation. Garbage business practices. There are plenty of better places. Trust me, I’ve looked (due to their incompetence)

This is the third time that we have stayed at Trailhead Lodge and I have to say that the experience has gone down a little bit from our previous stays. Not sure whether this has to do with the managment company, which has changed since the previous stay, but the overall vibe from check-in to during the stay was just not as good. The front desk folks are not nearly as personable or nice as previously and requests for help (i.e. missing washcloths and additional toilet paper) were treated as favors rather than what they should be doing for the guests. The property in general has been maintained well including the lobby and the hot tub/pool area. The unit that we were in, 4112, is in pretty good shape and was a nice place to stay despite the view to the parking lot and restaraunt across the street. Still a great place to stay but would suggest that management look at the guestside experience.

First off, the location is hard to beat. Third floor with a great view from the large balcony. The unit was not immediately on the mountain, so not specifically ski in & out, but the dedicated Wild horse Gondola, that runs from the property to the Steamboat (SB) ski area base, at least in the winter, is great. The gondola simplifies transport to and from the mountain so that skiers can come and go on their own schedule, which makes life easy for a family or group. In addition, if you rent via Vacasa, a complimentary shuttle is available. We never had an issue with shuttle availability, but good to book 20 minutes ahead of a needed ride. We had a rental car but it’s debatable if even needed with access to the shuttle for around town plus the gondola to & from skiing. There is parking at Trailhead Lodge for 1 vehicle and be sure to note the garage height limit since folks with roof carriers on big SUVs had issues. We had no prob with a traditional SUV’s height. We stayed in a 3 BR unit, with 3 bath rooms, and it provided plenty of space for our group of 6 (3 couples). There are outdoor hot tubs and a heated pool available to all on the property plus a good rec room on site if folks still have energy after skiing. There is a ski & board boot room with dryers and ski & board storage on the lowered levels which are fairly practical at the start and end of the ski day. Kitchen is well appointed and the unit was very comfortable. The in/unit washer & dryer were very convenient and property management was generous with laundry and dishwasher detergent. In addition to the great interior, the views from our 3rd floor balcony were stunning. We stayed over the Christmas holiday and obviously endured peak pricing but the unit was of high quality and the staff was exceptional, which made our 1 week+ stay really enjoyable. We had a few minor maintenance issues over the week but the Vacasa Team was super responsive and took care of issues quickly, even on Christmas Day. For planning a stay, br sure to follow-up directly with the property site for detailed questions and read the reviews since some of our early calls to the Vacasa central number provided mixed information. Shout out to Sarah at Trail Head Lodge who provided a lot of good upfront info that played a big part in us selecting this property for our ski vacatio

This was an excellent place to stay in steamboat. There is access to a short gondola ride to the base where you would then access the ski lift or gondola. At the base there is access to restaurants and stores and ski rental. This is a very convenient feature. There is good parking underground. The room is large has a full kitchen, washer, dryer dishwasher. Several TVs fully finished. The main bedroom was spacious and very comfortable and the bed was excellent. There’s a large double vanity bathroom in the main living room, dining room has a pull out couch, a side room was locked. There is a game room. There is an excellent hot tub and outdoor heated pool and a fully equipped gym. There is very friendly staff at the front desk very helpful. Indeed I did not use the free shuttle. We hired a car and drove from Denver, I would highly recommend this very comfortable stay excellent for families or couples

This Condo is wonderful. It provided so many extra things that made our stay so nice. I loved having a washer/dryer. They also had rolling laundry bins in the bathroom. There were plenty of towels, toiletries, and blankets/pillows. The gas logs were used every day. The view from the balcony was breathtaking. The parking was easy under the unit. The gondola was a perfect location and so easy to ride up the mountain. I loved having a shuttle service for anything you need. So many close stores and places to eat. We didn't use the pools but we went and looked around. They looked nice. The bed was so comfortable. The bathroom is very large. There is plenty of space to store luggage, etc. My cons (which are few) was they have coffee in the lobby and most days it was out or cold. The door to our balcony was broke. You couldn't even close it good and lock it. I did report it but we didn't want anyone working on it.

The property for the most part has been taken care of since our last stay. Unfortunately the gas grills were both broken. Overall still a nice place to stay.
