KAKTUS Hotel Kaktus Playa

This is a lovely hotel - I would say the best in Calella, though I wouldn't say 5*. All the staff were friendly, efficient and very helpful. Our room was lovely, modern, bright and airy with a balcony, a good sized shower room, plenty of wardrobe storage, a mini fridge and an Nespreso Coffee machine. The restaurant downstairs is bright and airy with excellent hot and cold choices for breakfast. The pool bar does excellent snack food for lunch. The hotel has a beach bar - Bahari Club - which is great and guests get a 10% discount here. It also owns beach beds and you can hire these at the hotel which we did a lot. The pool area is lovely with a lot of seating in the shade but not enough in the sun. They have an 8th floor sky terrace eith pool for an extra cost which we also used. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We have just got back from 8 nights at Kaktus Playa, and we had the most amazing time. After reading some of the reviews on here, we weren’t sure what to expect, however the hotel was even better than any of the photos show! Everywhere was always so clean, the rooms were a good size and again cleaned daily. We stayed in a Mediterranean pool view and I would say it is worth it as I think they may be a bit bigger than the others. The staff couldn’t do enough for you, the food and drinks were great, plenty of choice! We were just bed and breakfast but stayed around the pool for lunch and drinks a few days - reasonable prices for what you get. It was my birthday whilst we were there and we came back to a bottle of bubbly in the room! We paid for the rooftop sky terrace for our last day and it was well worth it (only €20 for full day) - views were amazing, lots of beds and a nice pool. The staff kept coming up to take drink orders too so we didn’t have to leave. Overall an amazing visit and would absolutely recommend this hotel! Would love to go back again! Thank you!

Kaktus Hotel was very disappointing. The rooms were small, with the toilet and sink inside the room right next to the bed—neither private nor hygienic. The bathroom fan didn’t work, and although I reported it, nothing was done. We didn’t feel comfortable at all. There was no table or space for luggage, and to make things worse, during breakfast a large cockroach was crawling under our table. Definitely not acceptable for a 5-star hotel.

I have stayed at the Kaktus Playa three times over the last couple of years, you always get a warm welcome from the staff, rooms are clean and well appointed, the food is excellent in the restaurant, and the bar well stocked with reasonable prices

Me and my boyfriend went when the cyber attack of Europe happened and the hotel weren't accommodating at all. I have an extreme fear of the dark and they didn't offer us anything no food, water, or light. The ATMs weren't working s we couldn't buy anything as the card machines run on wifi, the hotel told us to go into town to get food which we didn't want to do as I was crying and having panic attacks. Our phone were about to die and the hotel didn't do anything for us, we went to speak to them and I was crying they didn't show any sympathy. However, the pool staff were lovely and attentive. The food was lovely too I feel as if if we had come at a different period our experience would have been different. Also to use the indoor pool and the sky lounge there is an extra cost.

It a nice hotel, but if you want the photos on Instagram then you will get charged extra for it. It all about money! The hidden extras are a pain!!!! The rooms are clean but so impractical for a 10 day holiday, the electric blind in the room is such a pain. The pool is in the shade from 1pm, so they charge 20 Euro per person, per day to use the roof pool. The roof pool looks nice but empty and no drink service, no music nothing! so what's the point. The glass bathroom looks great but seeing your partner on the toilet and in the shower, is interesting. Takes personal to another level.

Great location to explore Calella (although avoid the supermarkets directly opposite the hotel as prices are a rip off!). The room was nice although we had some trouble with the air-con not working which was sorted after 2 days. Staff friendly and attentive. Average value for money - good stay but not 5 star. Rooms were cleaned very well and fresh towels daily which was great. Not many amenities open other than the pool as we went end of April/May (no excursions or entertainment). Only improvements would be regarding the food - we found 8pm quite late to eat, the food was never piping hot always luke warm and some evenings the selection wasn’t great at all. There were some dishes not labelled with allergens and not labelled with whether they contained meat or not (as a vegetarian with a nut allergy that would have been helpful!)

Very clean, good service and friendly, helpful straff. The staff tried to hell aWe will be back again.
