Parador de Baiona

The location and the fact it’s in a castle.

This was my Camino mid-point splurge and it did not disappoint. Stunning environment, ideal location for exploring and beautiful accommodation if you decide you just want to stay in your room. Lunch in the restaurant was exceptional and a special shout-out to Veronica who made her guests feel so welcome.

Not all the staff were welcoming. Many were quite brusque, bordering on discourteous. I was checked in by a charming older gentleman who was very helpful but that tone didn’t carry through with other staff. I wondered if they thought pilgrims, with our backpacks and hiking poles, lowered the tone of their hotel.

Die Lage, Ausstattung und Gestaltung der Anlage ist atemberaubend schön. Die unzähligen, schön gerahmten Bilder bzw. Kunstwerke in den Gängen und Zimmern sind museumsgleich. Am Ausblick von der Terrasse und gut erhaltenen Burgmauer mag man sich gar nicht sattsehen und kann den herrlichen Spaziergang um die Anlage auf der Mauer, sowie entlang des befestigten Weges außerhalb immer und immer wieder machen. Der kurze Weg zum Stadtkern ist ein schöner Spaziergang. Gutes Frühstück und schöne Restaurants. Geschmackvolle Polstergarnituren in den breiten Fluren laden zum Verweilen ein.

Der Pool ist erst ab Juni geöffnet, aber direkt unterhalb der Anlage ist ein schöner, kleiner Stadtstrand mit Schwimmmöglichkeit am Jachthafen.

This place is a knock out. Amazing location, incredible terrace, large, clean, comfortable rooms. Less than 10 mins walk to town (where I recommend you have dinner). Superior breakfast.

Beautiful property. Wonderful amenities and the breakfast was excellent. The room had a beautiful view and a most comfortable bed and nice cold air conditioning.
