This hotel was perfect for what we needed. Rooms are small but the view from out room was amazing. The staff are awesome. Although they speak a little English and we unfortunately don't speak any Spanish we had no trouble communicating. Manolo was a great host. After walking the Cares Gorge track, the hotel was great to have a drink and meal in. The hotel is right at the start of the track which was ideal. The walk was stunning.

We were delighted to arrive at this hotel after three days walking hut to hut through the Picos mountains - badly in need of a shower and comfortable bed. We weren't disappointed! The staff were all very friendly - nothing was too much trouble. the room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The eating is 'Spanish bar food' with some Asturian specialities so nothing special but all cooked nicely. We returned for another night after three more days in the high mountains and we welcomed like old friends. Thanks.
Hotel staff at breakfast area could be more pleasant with customers
The plus is its right at the start of the Cares Gorge trail-which is magnificent. The minus is its a meh hotel with hard beds and mediocre food. But... You didn't come here for the beds or food, you came for the spectacular views and hiking.
Beautiful little hotel close to the funicular railway ideal for walkers.
