Parador de La Gomera

Hard to beat this for a really relaxing location with beautiful views of the sea and harbour.

We had such a relaxing time at Parador De La Gomera. The views are spectacular as this hotel is on a cliff. People there are friendly. We had dinner at the restaurant and the food is good.

We stayed here from 18th to 21st April 2015 and loved the place. Great views and especially lovely gardens. Room was very nice and had large bathroom. Very friendly staff and food was very good. For me only negative point was pool was not heated so too cold in April, but others were using it. We will be coming back to this hotel.

fantastic quiet holiday. Great hotel as a base to explore La Gomera. Watch the walk back to the hotel in the evening, its a bit of an uphill slog.

This is abeautifully situated hotel, on a cliff top overlooking the sea and harbour, set amidst well kept botanical gardens, with a pool by a bar, excellent common rooms and other facilities.

We had a luxurious couple of days. Really recommend it.

stunning hotel - fabulous canarian building/country mansion in a fabulous location. Go for the wonderful sense of maritime history, it is a beautiful place. Savour the smells of old waxed wood together with cliff top drainage ( I am being positive here - seriously) and lovely planting in the well cared for gardens. Downside, the restaurant looks impressive, all starch and linen and again a stunning room, but the food you get is the same as in a cafe down the road but for a quarter of the price. We had some fantastic food on la gomera, and at reasonable prices - not here though although I suppose it is a parador which can mean school canteen. Didn't stop for breakfast, 17 euros is pushing it a bit if you want toast and coffee so headed off to a local cafe. So to sum it up. Fab place but eat elsewhere. Ps we are vegetarians so if you are wealthy non discriminate eaters of meat and fish you might find the school dinners okay

The building, the furniture and the gardens are wonderful. The view from the grounds is excellent. It was an interesting place to stay for a night. There were a few things which could have been better. The staff were not very friendly and seemed to be rushed, even though there were very few guests in the hotel. It was disappointing that the dinner was later than we expected because another function over-ran. The service then proceeded at break-neck speed with the main course arriving immediately the starter was finished and the plates of one person taken away before the other one had finished eating, giving the impression we were taking too long over dinner. Not a pleasant experience. As far as the pool is concerned, the rule that the pool is only for residents was not adhered to, and a dozen noisy children arrived, jumping in the pool and shouting loudly, with only one adult accompanying them. Moreover, the sheets on the bed needed to be ironed to a higher standard. Overall, disappointing.

A friend recommended a stay at the Parador and we were not disappointed. What a beautiful location in a lovely setting. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and were very satisfied with the food and service.
