More like a hostel than a hotel. The shower was about 24 x 24 inches and I kept hitting the water handle and turning it off as I showered cuz it was so small. Bad neighborhood. No phone. No internet. No plugs. TV was very small with 4 channels all in French and the volume wouldn't go above 10. Electric toilet was added to the room and when you flush it the whole floor shook. All in all, this hotel was very unsettling and I would not recommend it to anyone even for a one night stay. There was no service to speak of. After we checked in, the attendant handed us a key to the front door because he was leaving.

It did exactly as it said on the tin, simple room and very well situated close to the town and the port.

We wanted something inexpensive but close to restaurants and clean. the Victoria was all of these. service was charming and helpful, especially in offering advice on good local restaurants.

Clean, comfortable hotel with better than expected shower. Window faced lighthouse but it didn't cause us any problems. Quiet neighbourhood but eating places nearby and short walk to beach. Shower and loo separated from bedroom by concertina plastic folding door that doesn't reach right to the floor. Hosts welcoming and pleasant. Cannot comment on breakfast in room as we went out to eat. Appears to be only French programmes available on TV. All in all a satisfactory stay if overnighting.

Cheap as you expect not great although we stayed only 6 hours, there was a delay 3 hours on euro tunnel arrived 3am and left 9am

Courteous & friendly reception by gentleman & his lady. No breakfast room but prompt delivery of tray to room at requested time. Both speak excellent English. The lady advised me of easiest route to take to ferry port next morning which saved me the long way around.

It was adquate, I think its situation is ideal being so close to the ferries. It is also convenient for town and shops/restaurants (walking distance) but the room layout left a lot to be desired, it was clean but the door to the toilet was no more than a plastic concertina sliding cover and the same applied to the seperate bathroom which didn;t leave much space for a bedroom or anywhere for clothes, even for an overnight stay. Breakfast although seved in your room as there was no dining area was very good.

Nice hotel within walking distance of town centre and very close to ferry port.

This hotel has clean and quiet rooms, with friendly owners and is close to the ferry terminal. It is also a short stroll to the main street for cafes and restaurants, and is ideal for a day or two stay.

I'm guessing most people who are spending the night in Calais are doing so as a stop off to go somewhere else. That was my case anyway, I wanted a bed after getting off the ferry from Dover and the hotel is ideally situated 3minutes (on the satnav) from off the ferry, and a very short walk to the town. Unlike the other reviewer on here we were given a groundfloor room away from the lighthouse so I can't speak about that. The hotel is best described as a Blackpool B&B in Calais. Budget and no frills, it does everything it needs to do. The bed was comfortable, breakfast was nice, and the lady who brought it was very friendly and cheerful. The main guy had patience to persevere with my French although whether this was for his amusement, out of respect or because he couldn't speak English, I don't know! In short, it's ok, nothing special but good for one night if you're on your way to somewhere else, and any money you can save before you get to your destination is extra spending money!!
