Hôtel L' Estelle en Camargue

Beautiful spot with rooms backing on to a peaceful lake. Excellent staff. Nice pool and great restaurant.

The location and staff were amazing, the restaurant was amazing, the rooms and surroundings didn’t live up to what I expect from a five star hotel and as such didn’t give good value for money, but don’t get me wrong the overall ambiance and friendliness and location is well worth a visit

Bedrooms could do with updating and have been more comfortable, but the overall experience was very good

Stayed 3 nights and twice had dinner at the hotel. All the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms are a bit dated but comfortable and clean. Terrace by the lagoon ideal for watching nature and an afternoon snooze. Food at restaurant is tasty (check out the generous "magret de canard") and the wine list and cheese tray are of high quality. Great location to wind down for a few days.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel L’Estelle and it proved to be the perfect gateway to experience the best of the Camargue. The staff are wonderful and they do an incredible job. The staff were so friendly and prepared to go the extra mile for us during our stay. The hotel reminds me of a game reserve hotel so don’t expect the Ritz, expect something in keeping with the spirit of the Camargue. Breakfast was a good balance of French tradition and extras. The restaurant was excellent with a passionate chef who cares about what comes out of the kitchen each and every evening. We were quite astonished at the limited number of British tourists when there is so much to enjoy in the area. The wildlife is incredible and they have done so much to rewind the region. Arles is a beautiful historic city and gateway to the Camargue. We can’t wait to discover the area in the Autumn when we understand the sun still shines on an Autumnal landscape.

Excellent food and excellent service! I was pleasantly surprised. One of my favorites restaurants. My husband and I were asking stuff for recipes, and they were kind enough to explain what is on our plates. Our dessert was splendid! We will visit more.

I’m not the person to write bad reviews, but I’m also not recommending this place in its current state. Let me start with the positives: kind and friendly staff who are very helpful. Nice pool area, ok size of rooms and good restaurant. The rooms are unfortunately aged and tired, especially the bathroom. WiFi in the rooms is really slow. Bat feces on the walls and the floor by the pool shower and ants in our room and bathroom. These last ones are nature so you can’t really do anything about it... For 300 euro a night I have stayed in better hotels. A cry for a renovation of the rooms!

We ( 2 adults , 1 child of 16 ) really enjoyed the 4 nights we spent here. A personal touch from all of the staff, a very nice environment and room combined with good food made us feel very welcome. The hotel is quite small but there is a humungeous amount of staff to help you with everything you need. We received good tips on how to prevent the mosquito bites, where to visit, etc. The restaurant is of a very high gastronomique level but but not being blasé about it. They easily adapted to our preferences ( vegie e.g. ) and wishes. Room was of classic design but that fitted perfectly in the athmosphere, but provided in all services like Wifi, Airco... Price is not tiny but so is the return !
