Hotel Rural Quinta do Marco

This is an amazingly peaceful hotel away from the crowds and the coastal tourists. We've stopped three times now and will be back in the future.

A rural hotel with perfect views and lovely gardens. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and decorated very nicely. Lovely large bathroom with a powerful shower. The balcony over-looked the pool (all the rooms do) with gorgeous sunrises and sunsets and plenty of stars to see at night. The hotel is part of a working farm so you do get cockerel calls in the morning and a few howling dogs in the evening, but this is part of the charm. The gardens are beautiful and the pathways well maintained for exploring with benches and seats scattered around. The hotel has a small bar and includes a games table with cards and dominos. The main room is divided into a small seating area around a log burner, and the main dining room. This is where breakfast was served. Breakfast was a help yourself buffet with a good selection of foods to suit everyone's taste. There was a problem with flies, being out in the countryside, but I think the servers realised this and some things were covered with cloths.The fresh fruit and jams do need protection from flies though. We only ate in the restaurant for evening meal once, it wasn't for us, but everyone has different tastes. The menu on that night was mainly fish (which I don't eat) so limited choices and the price was quite high. But I think you have to try it for yourself. I personally think the rooms are big enough to provide self-catering studios which would be ideal.

A wonderful hotel near Tavira. Room spacious and a comfortable bed. The breakfast was very good with freshly squeezed orange juice and home baked pastries and cakes. We ate at the restaurant both nights and the food was excellent. All staff were friendly and helpful. It exceeded our expectations for the price.

Where to start? The staff were all friendly and helpful and very genuine. The room was expansive, comfortable with a nice deck and good view (we were on the top (2nd) floor). The groundskeeper works continuously and everything is pleasing. The design of the expansive grounds with the pool is well thought through. Breakfast was varied and pleasant. The dinner restaurant is incredible and the Fado night was really heartwarming. Thanks for acknowledging my wife's birthday with a song and a bottle of bubbly. There are so many great memories of our time in Hotel Rural Quinta do Marco both from a people and place perspective. We hope to return!

We extended our usual two week Algarve beach holiday by flying out mid week ( better flight options) and staying two nights at Quinta do Marco. What a perfect way to start our holidays, great location ( so different ), and great welcome / service. Didn’t see a need to move off site other than my early morning runs around the lanes and tracks . Highly recommended

We just loved this hotel, it's located in a very quiet and beautiful place overlooking the hills of the Algarve, the silence at night it's magical. You can sit in your balcony to enjoy the sunset and a have drink, or dive into the pool for swim just before dinner. The Hotel restaurant is quite good, but it is bit overpriced, the sangria they serve is outstanding, the wine choice is also very good. In the morning you can have breakfast outside and enjoy a beautiful view of the hills and the ocean, the breakfast served is quite nice. I think this hotel is great for relaxing a it is a great way to enjoy complete different perspective of the Algarve, a more rural experience away from the crowds. If you want you can drive 15min and enjoy the the several beaches in the Tavira area, which is more quiet than the West of the Algarve. This hotel is also a farm with animals: peacocks, donkeys, chickens, tortoises and cats !!! We loved the little kitten !!! I strongly recommend this hotel if you want to get away from the noise and the crowds in the Algarve.

This hotel exceeded our expectations during our one week stay. Even before we arrived communication was excellent with regard to booking a taxi to collect us from the airport. During our stay the service was faultless with staff friendly and keen to help. I would recommend hiring a car as, though the location is only about 15 minutes drive from Tavira, local transport links are minimal. We arranged car hire through a local company recommended by the hotel for a very reasonable rate. There are many places of interest and beautiful beaches to visit in the immediate area. The room, with large terrace, was immaculate and the gardens, which include a small farm, were delightful. The pool was never too busy with light lunches and drinks available from the bar. We had dinner in the restaurant several times, menu was varied with some vegetarian choices too. The hotel use their own produce as much as possible which adds to the quality of breakfast and meals. We thoroughly enjoyed our very relaxing stay and would love to make a return visit.

We had a relaxing trip and the exceeded our expectations. The view from the lobby-dining room is spectacular. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We also had two dinners and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. We highly recommend the hotel.

One of the best hotels we have stayed in and if you like nature you are guaranteed to fall in love with this hotel. The views from all around the hotel are breathtaking, room was comfortable, all staff were amazing, tasty breakfast with self grown produce and the hotel has its own farm with animals which was great fun for our daughter. From time to time they also run activities for kids like donkey riding, animal feeding which children love. Would strongly recommend for a relaxing break.

This is a great place to relax. Good food, attentive staff with peaceful surroundings .
