Château des Avenieres

Positive points:Friendly staff, interesting room decor, excellent setting. Clean room. The night we arrived the restaurant was closed. We were informed by e-mail of an alternative arrangement of a "garden party" vaguely described as consisting of a drink and music. Fortunately, we decided to drive to Annecy and eat at a restaurant there. The hotel markets itself as a top gastronomic venue, with menus priced accordingly, but I assume this is only the case at the very height of the tourist season in July and August - what a shame (we visited in June). The hotel would also have benefited from having a swimming pool

This Chateau provides one of the more unique experiences I have had. The degustation was absolutely heaven and memorable. The accommodation is a very high quality country house.. It acts and behaves like a four star establishment, the staff and service is incredible.. but it is designed first as a residence so it is very homely environment and not as spacious as a hotel specific design. The pool and grounds were under-going some work but the bleak and freezing weather kept us indoors anyway. So it was hard to get the feeling of what could be done and explored in the 62 acres of the property. I imagine it could be a hikers and walkers delight around the area.

Absolutely amazing! I cannot recommend this hotel enough! Friendly, personable staff. Incredible accommodations in an amazing location.

This was by far the most amazing highlight of our European trip! The hotel staff was almost one-on-one to meet our every whim! This hotel was worth the trip and will be forever imprinted as the most amazing location I have ever visited in my 45 years of life!

We stayed in Geneva for a few days and decided to rent a car and travel a bit. This hotel is about 50 mins away from DT Genevea with no traffic and is really nice. The food at the restaurant pricey (350 euros for two with wine) but really worth the money. Maybe one of the best restaurants , if not the best. Got a really nice room as well (chambre bleue) with view over the Mont Blanc.

We arrived after a snow and it was magical. A little off the beaten path but well worth it!

I went through the list of ratings and pondered whether I should rate anything less than a 5 and in the end I couldn't. Everything was superb - our room, the view, service, location so close to Geneva and the restaurant meal. We have travelled extensively over the years and this hotel rates as one of the best. A truly memorable place to stay.

Since the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us and were incredibly helpful and lovely . The room was beautifully and tastefully decorated and the bathroom was very romantic with the curtains over the bath and decorated with marble roman busts. It's a beautiful chateaux but the highlight wax the amazing dinner . It was truly memorable . We met the chef later and were surprised that he does not have Michelin star yet as he is still very young . Best stay!!

Just driving up the secluded tree lined street you knew it was a special place. The staff make you feel special and the room like royalty. The dining room was magnificent and so was the service and food. We would definitely stay there again.
