Château des Avenieres

This is a charming hotel in a beautiful location which has no customer focus and is unsuitable for business use. There was no wifi (although you get wifi code), no international news (although the news channels are listed in the hotel directory), and no evening bar. There was no restaurant on the night I attended (Tuesday). With the nearest village miles away there is nothing to do. The hotel had a snack menu which was served in what I can only describe as glass jars

The staff,room, amenities and chateau were wonderful. We loved the owners, Magdalena,money, and Benjamin. Nothing compares to the chateau. It was a magical birthday!

We came with a great hope to enjoy our first chateau stay. But, with the African room we got, it was quite extensively decorated for this small room and it was a bit of a turn-off. And the mattress sank in the middle which is rather uncomfortable and the cable box of the TV only works when one stands in front of it. We have to say, it was a total disappointment! To be fair, the ground and the view is beautiful!

A beautiful resort in the French Alps. First class food and service. Make sure you have car - the hotel is on a remote hillside...

It is a chateau well maintained and updated even though it was built more than a hundred years ago. It has a great view of the surrounding valley. Although it is on the French side, it has easy access to Geneva. I will stay there again when I visit Geneva next time.

Exceptional! Absolutely worth every penny! Beautiful location with views of the lake and countryside and wonderful, modern, comfortable rooms.

This was so much more then we expected. We upgraded our room so we would have a beautiful huge balcony with a beautiful view. It was so peaceful and the view was worth every extra Dollar we spent. A lot of times you see pictures on the internet of your hotel and when you get there you are disappointed because it is not as nice as you thought it would be. But this hotel was so much nicer then we could have imagined. Loved it. I would highly recommend it.

One of the nicest Chateaus I have ever stayed in. Easy to find on GPS with hotel given instructions. Service was simply perfect and nothing to complain about. Room was nice and well kept but obviously it's a historical building so can't really expect for a five star type of hardware. Didn't realize this was a gastronomic hotel otherwise would have booked for dinner on the date of arrival.

The surrounding of this hotel was beautiful and the dinner at the hotel was delicious, well served, with a great view. But our stay was affected by the following surprises: 1. There are several buildings on the property. But only the castle like building is shown in the pictures. This is a little false advertising. Our room was large and clean but it is not in the castle like building. My kids were a little disappointed. 2. There were flies coming in and out of the salami on the breakfast buffet table. 3. Transportation from the train station was inconvenient. Our driver arranged with the hotel did not pick us up as we expected. We were waiting at the train station for about an hour and we had to make many phone calls to the hotel as his phone was not reachable.
