Château Meyre

The meat and cheese board was good value for money. Hiring the bikes and they waivered the charge for those.

It's extremely expensive for what it is. Don't mind paying €195 per night somewhere (we stayed two), but if you put to one side the exterior look of the building, it's quite basic. Quite tired interiors. Basic feel with no ambience. Breakfast for €20 pp on top of room rate was very average. The charge for hiring bikes, €10p/h, cheaper for half day, but they did waiver that for us. You need a car, no dinner options nearby, expensive taxi required. No onsite dinner/restaurant service. Bathroom very outdated. Basic hand shower head over the bath on shower rail, no mixer taps. To summarise, I think their website, the pictures of the chateau, pictures of the grounds and the cost, massively overstate and overplay what this property and stay actually is. You could easily spend over €500 for two nights on a stay with very underwhelming facilities and location.

If you are looking for a quiet countryside experience in the Bordeaux region with some of the most caring and adorable hosts possible look no further. The rooms are very comfortable, the breakfast is always fresh and a great way to start a day of wine exploration in the region, and the overall atmosphere is very clean, peaceful and relaxing. The crew that manages the guests are genuinely helpful and will go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. They patiently answered a thousand questions, even made dinner for us after their kitchen was closed when we came home hungry. The crew made our stay extra special. Notice i said come home. Thats how you feel at Chateau Meyre. At home!! Note: the Chateau is a bit remote and you need a rental car preferably or the chateau can find you a taxi but be prepared to pay for it since the distance to Bordeaux city and varied food options is a bit far. Highly recommend for an adorable French countryside experience.

Nice venue, friendly staff with extra wine tasting, standard but good breakfast. Swimming pool still closed (low season), but seemed to be inviting... Good location near Margaux and Bordeaux.

Very friendly staff, polite and concerned with the well-being of guests. Charming facility, very clean and comfortable. Wonderful breakfast. If you have the opportunity, I recommend a light meal, a generous sausage and cheese board and of course accompanied by wine. Lovers of walking and running in nature, bring sneakers. Very beautiful places, starting with the property's vineyards and a forest in the neighborhood. This location is perfect as a starting point for exploring the region and visiting the Chateau's in the area. I thank the staff who welcomed us, we will definitely be back!

everything was perfect

Chateau Meyre is a charming place to stay for a couple of nights. The room in the annex was comfortable and the gardens are lovely to relax in. The breakfast in the chateau is good and the staff was very friendly and helpful. For evening meals the staff puts together a nice salad or snack. It is a good starting point for a tour around the Medoc.

If nobody in your group speaks English and can translate, the tour and explanations could be a bit disappointing, as the very friendly guide did not communicate comfortably in English. If you want to have a real dinner, you really need to drive somewhere else.

This was an absolutely magical stay. The staff was wonderful, the grounds beautiful, and the food and wine were so tasty! Absolutely want to return!
