The Swan Hotel, Stafford, Staffordshire - The Coaching Inn Group

We were given an 'accessible room' which was fine as I imagine was perhaps more spacious. The hotel was very nice and central. The breakfast was very good too.

The only problem we had was that the water in the sink did not drain away and the tap seemed to operate strangely as to get the hot water you had to turn the tap full on which then splashed out everywhere. I did ask at reception about the water not draining away and the lady said she would send someone to sort it out but it was never done!!

Central location, easy access with secure parking, lovely room on third floor, a lift, good food, friendly staff.

A small issue with a dinner choice - our server did their best to rectify.

Bathroom had mould, people running screaming and shouting all night (not hotels fault but a pain) kettle provided but could only use it if moved it across the room and sat on a book minor again but a pain. Been to a few of these coaching inn hotels and this has to be the worst yet.

As we entered our room it most definitely had the wow factor. We had a four poster bed. A bath, a shower, a fridge, free water and two dressing gowns. The room was spotless clean and no neighbours. Oh and free parking!

The only downside is we were on the main street so we heard three couples arguing,nothing at all to do with the Swan Inn.

Second time we have stayed at the swan, we had a lovely time, hotel very nice, staff friendly, very clean, great location, highly recomend and will be staying again in the future.

One of the Bars was not being used, we were unable to get in on the Friday night as the front door was locked, they did. It answer the bell or phone, SE we had to go round the back and luckily one of the staff was there. One of the beds was also broken.

Lovely lunch in the restaurant - very well looked after by Amberle who ensured that everyone with allergies were kept safe and suggested additions which enhanced our meals.

Clean, welcoming and comfortable hotel. Dinner was better than expected had the steak and kidney pie that was scrumptious and the option to have Mash rather than the usual Chips was most welcome. My wife had the smoked duck breast Caesar salad, and a nice touch was the tempura anchovies. Our waiter was excellent and really knew his job. The bar had a great selection of ales and beers, I’m a bit fussy and like real ales, I was not disappointed. Breakfast had us enjoying smoked salmon, and poached eggs, just couldn’t not mange the full English after the dinner the night b4, it did look good with the black pudding.

The noise on the street outside at night times, the room above us was very noisy down to arguments at 4am in the morning so ruined our stay
