The staff were lovely.

Everywhere was a bit dirty and tatty. The bathroom was awful with mould everywhere and a broken tap which made it difficult to change from bath to shower, and to have a shower curtain is awful.

The hotel is in a perfect location right in the centre of Stafford. The location is nicely decorated with some old pictures of the location area. The car park is secure and easily accessible which was a big plus for us as other central hotel don’t seem to offer parking.

The room was quite warm, but that might have been our bad controls. The blind didn’t cover the full length of the window so let in a bit of light in the morning.

I very much enjoyed my short stay at The Swan. I like to blend into the daily life of places I visit, and staying here put me in the center of activity. The staff was uniformly approachable, friendly and helpful. They happily provided an extra towel when requested. They also accommodated my early morning checkout. The ground floor restaurant and coffee/tea shop provided excellent service and a welcome respite after long walks in the village. I also enjoyed looking out the big windows at the street life outside. They have several comfortable dining and sitting rooms to accommodate parties of different sizes; I was able to meet my family for brunch in a private room and then move to a separate area for tea.

The water pressure in the shower was a little weak and the temperature of the water never got hot enough for my liking.

We have just returned from a two night winter deal with our friends. We have stayed at many coaching inns and we all found this to be one of the better ones we have stayed at. The food was excellent and served very professionally by the staff. One slight negative was that breakfast on our second morning didn't match up to the first. Items were not replaced when they ran out, and we had to ask for bowls and small plates. This is no fault of our server as she was on her own and in my opinion needed extra personnel to help her. The room we were allocated was OK (room 202) but the bathroom was a little tired (needed regrouting) I must complement all the staff we encountered as they were all excellent in there various duties. We would have no hesitation in returning sometime in the future.

Great position for theatre, and parking included.

Room above the restaurant very noisy. We did mention at reception and was immediately offered another room - excellent customer service!
