"Great Location but Penny Pinching"

Great location and breakfast was nice.

Our room had a very creaky bed which really needs upgraded. A lot of penny pinching: Parking on site is £15 for one night. (It is free overnight on the street outside and several other car parks nearby.) Toiletries are kept behind the reception rather than in the room. We were handed a 10% off voucher for the bar for use between 5 and 7pm despite arriving at 8pm for our one night stay and the staff didn't offer to extend it to the time we were there for. (Why bother giving it to us?) The "continental" breakfast is cereal and some tubs of yoghurt. But the funniest example was being told we couldn't have a hashbrown on a breakfast roll as "they were being saved for vegetarians." Not being able to spare a 15p freezer hashbrown is pretty poor. Overall not a 4 star hotel and not worth the full-price cost.

Location is great and the parking very convenient. Super friendly staff.

It felt rather greedy to charge an extra £15 for parking. The room we were in had paper thin walls and we could hear the guests in the room above us everytime they moved around as well as the guests across the corridor. That said, once everyone had gone to bed the area is very quiet.

Great staff. Very friendly. Beautiful house and comfortable room. Location perfect just a 10 minute walk to town/station. Close to river. Lovely cooked breakfast, plenty of choice.

No fresh fruit on continental breakfast. Other slight prob having to iron in housekeeping room, better pillows needed.
