Beautiful heritage hotel with spacious, comfortable rooms and good bathroom. A little dark, no bedside light but opened out onto a pretty garden. The pool looked nice but we generally don’t swim. Restaurant was good.

It’s a resort in itself, fairly remote so you need to be happy with the hotel and grounds.

Beautiful surroundings. Ideal place to relax after the busyness of the city. Breakfast plentiful and delicious, as was dinner the previous evening. Staff going out of their way to ensure comfort.

Decent enough spread for the price charged.Mostly Indian Style. Indian cuisine food quality, and restaurant service was excellent. The promptness & service orientation of the staff is excellent. Marred by their hanging around for tips at the end.

The cleanliness level of the linen and bath towels. The staff hovering around at check out time for gratuities was very uncomfortable. No views from the rooms - primarily surrounded by the village homes. Also, the steps to the first floor are steep. Not friendly for senior citizens - should have a lift option. A distance away from Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary.

SOOOOO happy we booked this! I regularly go on pilgrimage to Rishikesh, Haridwar, Vrindavan and Govardhan every year from the New York, and the last day before i leave i end up in delhi at a airport hotel...in the last few years Aerocity. But i'm over it. Ugly corporate hotels that feel like i'm in a California mall. not interested. Chandra Mahal is charming hotel. (Haveli) is not quite in Bharatpur but a charming village perhaps 20 minutes outside. I'm so over the noice of (even) the holy places. Just honking, and speakers etc etc. This place feels like i was in an indian village from 1950. simple sweet, clean, farms, cows. I splurged for the expensive room (there's 4 of them) and it's still cheaper than practically anything in Aerocity. But student of mine stayed in one of the Heritage rooms and they were great, nice, tasteful and charming-classic old Rajasthani style. Dinner was great, breakfast was simple but good. (i had papaya yoghurt and paratha), but we took the morning off driving the bird sanctuary just to walk around. exactly what i needed. Best air quality yet! came back. had some fruit. got a haircut at this great local barber. THe staff was next level accomodating. Especailly Phool Singh who literally walked us around the village invited us into his home to meet his family and gave us masala chai. since we're flyiing out at 2AM this morning we had time to kill. sat poolside read, and they said no problem with late check out and totally catered to us. so grateful we came. This is my new way of leaving or even entering India. thank you staff ;) sincerely, Ray Cappo

Beautiful historical house, beautifuk large rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. Situated in a small rural village ideal for seeing countryside and way of life. High spot was a bicycle guide around tge village and countryside accompanied by one of the hotel staff
