Riad Al Zahia

This Riad is lovely - a little haven of peace and tranquility in the heart of the medina and close to the city ramparts. The staff were so welcoming and kind and one staff member even walked me out of the medina to my car when I had to leave very early in the morning as he didn't want a solo woman walking alone - I was so grateful to be accompanied for help with the directions. They were also willing to offer me an early coffee and simple breakfast before departure. The roof terrace is very pretty. My room was really big and the bed was so comfy with lovely cotton bed sheets. Very happy with my choice, and the price was so reasonable.

A very good location and easier to reach most historical and cultural sites. A very safe neighbourhood. The staff very helpful.

Lighting could be improved in walkways. If you have difficulty walking, watch ou for stairs especially at corners. Wifi in 2nd floor was just OK.

The property looks good, is well kept, but people working there are totally disappointing. I paid for a double room with a double bed and they wanted to give us a room with 3 separate beds. Only after showing them pictures of the room I booked and insisting a lot, they gave us the right room. Which, by the way, was available and located next to the initial room, just to see the absurd of the situation. They serve breakfast on the rooftop, you have to climb 3-4 levels on narrow steps. My parents are old and cannot climb and descend that much. I asked if it’s possible to serve them breakfast at the ground floor lobby. They accepted in the end, but after I had to insist, the lady in the reception pretended she doesn’t understand, smirking. Not good attitude at all.

Very nice Riad within minutes of the main square. Friendly staff and excellent rooftop breakfast. Rooms and common areas are not as polished as the pictures would suggest but not in bad shape either - decent and everything works. Complimentary water would be helpful in the rooms.
