Hotel Florida

To begin with - your experience might be different than ours. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Sorrento - we used it as a central point for day trips to Capri (amazing) and Positano. The hotel was fairly clean - except one day a service person had to fix our AC and left a mess throughout our room and bathroom. Our experience with the staff was unique - as we had great experiences with other hospitality staff elsewhere in Sorrento. Hotel Florida staff didn’t seem very attuned to guest needs - no proactivity to make sure your stay was great. Odd thing - seemed to be a lot of locals visiting staff and received better service than guests. Was even told to get my own cappuccino at breakfast while the man working the bar passed by me to chat with others and make them cappuccino - odd. It seemed like the staff was inconvenienced by guests at times. The whole experience was just OK - I don’t want to trash the staff entirely. There is a young man serving in the restaurant who was excellent and thoughtful. Worked super hard. Room was clean and had all that we needed - wifi worked all but one day. To be clear - it’s good place if you need a clean room and do not expect a great guest experience - it will be adequate

Great hotel for a 3 star

This hotel had good pricing for the Sorrento area. We loved the pool and the bar and restaurant. Our room was very underwhelming and there were a ton of tiny ants that got in and were all over the floor. That was a turn off.

Very quant place to stay, always quite around the area and helpful staff. Very close to a beach club and nice restaurants.

Despite being 3 star hotel felt modern and well kept. The staff was friendly and always willing to accommodate, the hotel had everything we needed, a good size pool, bar, restaurant and a family room with 3 beds. The hotel was 10 minutes walk from the station / 15 minutes from town, which can be hard work with young children in the sun, but ok for older kids and adults. Overall we had a great time at Hotel Florida.

A well run family friendly hotel in a quiet area. Walkable to Sorrento and local areas/beach club. Clean and spacious room that was comfortable and peaceful. The breakfast is varied enough for a weeks stay and the lunch/dinner menu offers a good choice at reasonable prices. The hotel run pizza night on Friday’s is really good and inexpensive. Enjoy tasty pizzas in the pretty lemon garden. The staff were hard working and attentive. My only negative comment relates to checkout and the lack of courtesy room for showering and changing for a late flight. Having checked earlier in the week we were reassured sorting a room on departure day would be no problem. However, on the day this was not the case. My family and I were shown to an outdoor garden room by the pool toilets where the pool cleaning equipment was stored and a first aid bed was set-up. We were refused the use of pool towels, so had to shower and change in a garden shed and dress in the lemon grove. Not what I expected for a €215 per night respectable hotel.

Place was great. One big downfall was that there isn’t any WiFi in the rooms, just the common area outside/by the pool and bar. However the staff were quite helpful about tips to take the ferry or other best means of transportation to get around.

Property was clean. The beds were comfortable which is amazing for this price point. The places we stayed before was like a $50 kids mattress. These beds at Florida hotel were same five star!!! That is very important considering you are walking constantly. WiFi was fast throughout the whole property. Best of all was the pool. It was clean and refreshing. I highly recommend finding a place with a pool in the warm months. Don’t forget to try Nanas cooking at the restaurant!!! We watched her in the kitchen making everything from scratch! The only thing they can do different is serve food by the pool. The front desk staff was gracious and accommodating as well.
