Alpenrose Hotel & Gardens

Let me start by saying that the staff is quite nice and helpful and the property has a wonderful view and a tremendous amountl of potential. That being said, it is in great need of updating and is lacking in just about every amenity. The towels and sheets were old, gray and worn...no shampoo and the room was not cleaned particularly well. Our room was situated on the first floor, sandwiched between the entrance to the reception area and a lovely patio area in the back with a beautiful view. Unfortunately, the hotel had a bus load of rowdy visitors - half of which spoke at full volume on the patio and the other half speaking at full volume in the reception area until well past midnight. Once they went upstairs, the parquet floors above us squeaked and squawked for another hour. There was no air conditioning and the rooms were fitted with down comforters designed for the winter months - the heat was miserable and I did not get a wink of sleep. The breakfast was well done and again, the staff greeted us in a friendly manner although no one asked how our stay was. I think this place could be spectacular with a little love but sadly I will not be back to see it.

Nothing special, interior can do with some upgrading. The staff who was managing breakfast was very rude towards guests.

Very helpful staff, great service, plenty of choice at breakfast, from 0700. Only let down by noise from other guests on one night. Wi fi works well.

Overall the stay was good. Fantastic staff. Value for money. You will get what you are paying for. They don't have a lift this is something one has to keep in mind if you need one. Nice view from the balcony.

Two nights here and could have gone for a third or forth time permiting, once we found it the staff were really friendly and welcoming food was good and hot which we needed as it was pigging freezing outside. train station just a stones throw away handy if you ae planning on going up to jungfraujong or piz gloria. You get a free travel pass for the bus into interlaken valid for the lenth of your stay and as many trips as you want. would recommend this hotel to any and all. oh breakfast is standard but ok

Very nice hotel in easy to reach location. Super views front and back and nice garden. Room pleasant and staff helpful. Good location to reach many super places and supermarket just along the road.

The hotel was perfect for a place to rest your head. It was in a cute neighborhood and very easy to travel into Interlaken. The gardens were lovely. The room was totally fine. It was an older hotel and the walls were a bit thin (could hear some hallway noise), but the staff was super friendly and helpful!

Very fun place to stay. Everyone was friendly and helpful. They had lots of information on hiking and adventuring the Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald, Interlaken area. The Rugby World Cup was going on so we were able to watch it with others at the hotel. The experience was great.
