Alpenrose Hotel & Gardens

More of a hostel rather than a hotel. Is above a bar where we stayed so loud and even when the bar closes the floors are so squeaky and the walls so thin that you hear everything! Shared bathroom which isn't ideal or convenient. Breakfast very average. Staff were friendly that is the only positive!

Hotel is very old and you can here your neighbors' conversation without a problem. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable of the area.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location and proximity to Interlaken. You still would need a car to get to the hotel and to the city. The room was in a worn down condition and no proper closet and storage place. The room door was difficult to shut and one could easily hear people in adjacent rooms because of the old structure of the hotel and the wooden floor squeaking all night. Also, few rooms in the hotel do not have a private bathroom. Breakfast was good with a lot of options and the garden behind the hotel was well maintained too. Will look for a different hotel when we visit next time to Interlaken

Staff was incredible, from check inn-out, switched rooms, helpful on excursions. Downside for me a shared toilet. Enough said.

Incredible views and outstanding service. Hotel is a bit old, but very well maintained, and has a special charm.

Very impressive

I cant say enough about the hotel staff. We immediately were greeted by the nicest guy, Ryan. He helped us book excursions and was so helpful in suggesting things to do in Interlaken and surrounding areas.

The view from our room was very good. But the bed, bathroom and other room comforts did not meet our expectations. There was not even a phone in the room. The dining area looked good but again the food disappoints. Overall we are surprised that expedia has this hotel on its list..

Excellent location for Interlaken and Jungfraujoch. Nice relaxing view from the room balcony too. However, it felt like the hotel mainly catered for large groups. We paid for dinner at the hotel one evening and the service was very disorganised with the staff only paying attention to the larger group who were staying there. It was a buffet service but the staff only offered us the food that was leftover on the buffet table after the group had been served. We felt very neglected compared to the attention that was being given to those in the larger group, and had to wait a long time for any kind of service.

This hotel features a great location, views, staff and breakfast. As many hotels in Switzerland's past, in this hotel many rooms share a bathroom, and TVs are non-existent. Also, the floor in our room really squeaked.
